Wow, you are contradicting yourself...

And please, stop making that as an excuse."We picked the wrong players." Did you know that your roster is basically the roster you had in the '04 World Cup? You won, didn't you? So that's not a legit "excuse." Because just like See Red siad, you guys were celebrating the moment the roster was announced. It's just tooooooooooo easy.

To answer your question, it's 1996. It's not like a 50-year drought.

alot goes on in 2 years ,players get older and not the same shape they were, did all the other teams had the same players as well?NO so it dosent even have anything to do with it.

as far as the 50 year drought thats just in olympics you do know that its not only the olympics were the worlds best meets.?and 1996 is 10 years ago we are not in the past here

Well, what can I say? It's just tooooooooooooo easy to laugh at an overrated team.

you know what your right ,it was pretty funny when USA's women hockey team lost to sweeden in the semis just the look on their face, especially when they were supposed to win verry easily ,i get your point

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Now you're bringing up the age factor. Your team has an average age of 27. Sure, some of them are in their mid 30's, but who cares? Majority of your players are in their prime so quit making this excuse.

Hey, do me a favor - Think about what you just said. 1996 is in the past. So is 2004, so quit bragging about it. It doesn't matter how recently you won.

You're bringing up the chicks now? Oh, that's right. That's because the men's team lost. At least our women won a medal, right? Hell, at least our American fans weren't arrogant and held a sign that says "It's too easy. Give us the gold already blah blah" in the stands. You get the point? I gotta feel sorry for that bitch who made that sign. Must be from Saskatchewan.

When did I say the US was better? I never did. That's like you admitting the Canadian team is overrated and the biggest disapointment in the Olympics.

And I for one can admit that the canadiens mens hockey team was a disapointment HOWEVER they did better than USA wich again is what im arguing about

Your point was to compare our women's team with your men's team, not with your women's team. Our women won the Bronze, your men didn't even qualiify. Is that specific enough?

Hey, don't complain about my comment about my sign. I don't care if it wasn't you.

Oh, was that your wish list? To just do better than us? [/sarcasm] I thought you had a bigger fish to fry? Face it, doing 3 points better than us without even qualifying for Bronze is nothing to brag about. Jesus, this is like a typical Giant fan. "Oh well, at least we finished ahead of the Dodgers!"

No, no, no, no. You were saying our women's team was supposed to be dominant, which they had to be. But not as dominant as your men's team. You were acting like our women were a hockey powerhouse, considering your women's team was a legit threat to us. Canadian's men's team was supposed to win it easily, right?

You were comparing.

What are you supposed to say? Nothing. You were supposed to shut up as I expected. Go ahead and brag about finishing (barely) ahead of us. That's what happens when your country is considered a suburb of the country south of it.

And your better >? if thats the case you should shut up yourself ,they did even worst, and dont give me that crap .blah.blah.blah they were heavy favored,blah.blah.blah

if thats makes you happy that the Canadiens lost JUST BECAUSE they were heavy favored and your team goes 1-4-1 ,you aint f***ing much better

Ok, ok. I should blame Canada.

Ok, ok, people.

Look. We can all agree on this one point.

Most of Canada's team works in the USA, make millions in the USA, send their kids to school in the USA -- they should be playing for the USA. Seriously, what more reason do they need to represent the USA in the olympics? :D

the problem with the canadain team wasn't that they're overrated (ok maybe the defense was and losing niedermayer hurt a lot) or they should've had this guy or that guy. look at the players on that roster, they did not score. i don't think anyone on this board would've bet that the canadians would've been shutout in three games. if you did you're a better man than me. they did not score because they did not play inspired hockey. they were lazy plain and simple. they thought they would show up and every one else would fold their tents. all i heard was how we could have fielded two teams and they would've been playing for the gold and silver. pure arrogance and i think it filtered down to the dressing room. some minor adjustments could have been made, but would that have made a difference? i doubt it especially when you get shutout in three games. they are some serious primadonnas. you shouldn't expect a gold medal every time out, but this was a disaster.

gretsky's big mistake was not taking younger faster players like eric staal, sidney crosby or even patrice bergeron. canada is a talented team but could have used more speed and more hungry players.

Another gold medal for the united states as 21-year-old Julia Mancuso earned a stunning victory in the giant slalom on a snowy, foggy Friday to salvage a disappointing Olympics for the U.S. women. Mancuso, known for wearing a tiara in slalom races, gave the American women their first Olympic medal since Picabo Street earned gold in the super-G at the 1998 Nagano Games.

with 21 total medals so far through the games this is the best United States showing in a winter olympics that is hosted outside of the United States

Chad Hedrick wins a silver in the men's 10,000 Speed Skating race and the US Men's Curling teams wins a bronze medal beating Great Britain 8-6. The US now has 23 medals.

Maybe the Canada should just let the curling team compete in hockey too. They just had a 6-point end in the Gold Medal match against Finland.

Congrats to Sweden on their Gold in Men's Hockey. And a really good Olympics for Canada they won 24 medals the most ever at the olympics. But still the most important part for us the hockey was crap when it came to our team.
