Serisouly man, this has got to be some sort of Internet message board record or something. I dont think I've ever seen a thread where like every poster was banned

Welcome BH members. It seems your exodus has created a big splash in our small pond. Don't worry, the water will settle, I just hope that your reception hasn't scared any of you off because it's always nice to get some fresh perspective (as long as it agrees with TOS). Here's a little about me. I'm Keith, a student of Electrical Engineering (at UCF) and veteran of the USMC (teuffelhunden!). I have 1.5 kids (I'm not bullshitting you, my wife is 6 months pregnant), no dogs, and a love affair with baseball. I see lots of VA in the member locations; I was born and raised in Fairfax County. Go Sox!

As for this whole BH thing, I still have absolutely no idea what the hell went on here yesterday, and I was checking the boards throughout the day. :dunno:

man no kidding, I checked the board syesterday till like 2 or 3 PM and suddenly I come back and see like 15-20 banned new members. Someone please tell us what the hell went on, I feel like Rip Van Winkle

the mods here are the best that I've seen on a lot of boards. If yeszir decided that a ban on the BH people was needed for whatever reason, then I totally stand by his decision. as I said earlier, I don't know what happened so I can't even really comment on it, but knowing yeszir, I'm positive he had a damn good reason for it.

 

This is one of the best message boards around, when you go into someone's house, you play by their rules, no matter what you think of them. When I go into someone's house, I always ask if I should take my shoes off even if they have the most filthy floor known to mankind.

 

I know you're probably just sticking up for your friends, who may or may not be back depending on what yeszir does. Good luck to them on that. We have our own brand of humor around these parts, so maybe its some sort of rookie hazing that he's putting you guys through. At least he aint putting shaving cream on yoru nads

First, all of you were not banned. second read the posts and warnings. But I'll put it from my own point of view. The basic problem was that former members of the BH site came here with little attempts to introduce themselves, interact with members of our site, treated this site as a BH chat room, and basically had no regard for our rules ( written or understood ). Some people over reacted ( on both sides ) which is unfortunate. Essentially, when you "join" a site, be it one person or more, you don't try and dominate or disregard the current members. This is a discussion board, of some very close members. This isn't a chat room, or a place to rant. The Fights & Crap forum is meant to vent out people with a brief feud , not a frequent antagonistic post(s). The "Introduce yourself" forum is meant to let the members of the site get to know a little bit about a new member ( along with the Public Profile ). Considering the number of posts, and how few were on baseball or sports, the lack of interaction with current members, and the fact that one of your own members stated that one of the reasons of the demise of the BH site was due to lack of banning and discipline. Yet you, ( not all ) basically stated or acted like it was just like BH. We at talksox have worked hard at trying to maintain a site were there are intelligent discussions, exchange of information, and respect for other non-offensive members. I hope that answers your question. Read the posts, it's not that we don't want new members, we just don't like people that don't have respect. Respect has to be earned.

Thank you very much for explaining what happened. I was checking the boards frequently through out the day and by the time it was over, I'd had no idea what had just happened. Hope those guys can come back and be contributing members in the future. If not, then so it goes.

I didnt get a chance to speak with any of them but just by reading there posts they sounded like airheads in there own little world. What they should do is create there own board if they really want to carry on like they did.

if I may! just imagine if you will, your in a forum for say a couple of years, and you get to know some people pretty good....sort of like what you have going on here...then all of a sudden because of a couple of psycho's your forum is abruptly shut down...about a week goes by...your able to make contact with a few people and you suggest they look at this site..soxtalk...as silly as it may seem, some of the lady posters from the BH said we were just like family...she's right...all of us that came in here are just like a little family...we have a great history of which would take too long to explain...I guess the bottom line is that we kinda went overboard when we first came in here due to being very relieved and happy that we had a place to come to and be able to communicate with each other. I appologize on behalf of the entire group, including BBdoc who was really just upset about us being banned and really is not a bad person...The guy is a full time med student who lives and eats yankee/redsox baseball...like I said...he was upset...I honestly believe that given some time we new posters can adjust and be great contributors to this site...I also know and realize that you have a very wide variety and cross section of people here...We can respect that as well...as for me? I'm with Americal Man...a seasoned sox fan with 45+ years of loving the sox...Remember Ted Williams??? I do and I saw his last home run...
