Who cares? It's not like their linebackers are that good anyway. If you're trying to ask if the Giants had any presence like Urlacher, the answer is no. And even if they had their healthy starting linebackers, there's still no Urlacher-esque presence there. The Giants are skilled with names like Strahan and Umenyiora up front. They're not known for much else. The Panthers attacked the secondary a lot. Linebackers aren't part of the secondary. Steve Smith was who needed to be stopped, and he simply wasn't. That's the secondary's fault.

 

 

Actually, Antonio Pierce is not too shabby. Deshaun Foster is the one who wasn't stopped, and if Pierce wasn't hurt he definitely could've contributed to stopping the run.

 

This is supposed to be about Chicago. As for Smith, it's true he was not stopped, but the Bears have Nathan Vasher, Charles Tillman and Mike Brown to take care of that. I'm not saying they can smother him, but they'll do a better job than the Giants did and even though the offense does suck there's no way they get shut out like the Giants. As I said, a Thomas Jones 5 yard run, a Rex Grossman 1 yard pass and a Nathan Vasher INT return should be more than enough.

 

 

It sure as hell is going to be a good game though.

No doubt it will be a good game, but this is just my 2 cents, and I dont want them to be like the Cowboys but, if they could just do what the Cowboys did to the Panthers i think they would be just fine. Besides Thomas Jones is a beast.

That's all good and all, but that's some high hopes for that Chicago defense to bring it all the way down the redzone everytime. The Chicago offense will NOT move the ball against the Carolina D.

That is correct. However, make sure you edit your original pick. Also, you can't change Sunday's games after the first Sat. game has begun. In other words, once the first game starts, that's it for changes that weekend.

I appears some of you are a little discouraged after round one. Let me point out that it really isn't that hard to make up ground. For instance, if some one ahead of you picks a game wrong and you pick it correctly, its a two point swing. They would lose a point and you would gain a point. There are 7 games left, that could potentially translate into 14 points of adjustment. So give it your best shot.
