The Patriots will be the underdogs to the Denver Broncos as it stands right now. Thats how Brady likes it as, which gets a fire lit under him and his teammates.

Last meeting was the 28-20 loss which almost saw them come back and tie it.

---This happened in the first 6 games, defense was at its worst

---No Bruschi, and Seymour to help out the front 7

---No Dillon, Faulk, and Givens.

---Belichick loves planning for a team they lost to the first time around ;)

But even when the Broncos were in down years, the Broncos have always played the Patriots tough in Denver. This year, whether you guys like to admit it or not, the Broncos are the better team.

I know, I'm just saying that even when the Pats were at their best and the Broncos were at their worst in recent years, they've always struggled going into Denver.

If the Pats had the better record coming out of the much better division, and were, statistically, a better team and had already beaten the Broncos, I'd be hearing that the Pats are the better team -- so I'm just keepin' it real

No one's discouting Denver as a tough team, we know that they are.

Us Patriots fans are just being optimistic that it'll be a close fought out game. The defense has improved a hell lot better, especially against the run. Patriots after the loss ranked at the bottom of the barrel, giving up an average of 130+ yards a game. Since then, they finished the season with the 8th best D against the run, giving up an average of 98 yards. It featured no bruschi, seymour, dillon, givens, and faulk. The Patriots were at their lowest point on both sides of the ball for that game.

So no, Im not going into Saturday night thinking it'll be a cake walk. What is evident for New England: one of the best front 7 of the current playoff teams, Tom Brady (look for him to step up over what happened last in Denver); Belichick; most clutch of a kicker; revamped secondary moreso than early in the season (can you said Duane Starks? :what: ). Easier said then done I know, but I got to have the faith in my boys.

Its going to be a hell of a pressure-filled game, fingers crossed :( but I cant wait

EDIT: Its been announced that the Patriots are underdogs by 3 1/2

I really am actually shocked that the Broncos are favorites going into the game. They've gotten no love from the media, fans, or anybody, oh well, I prefer people sleeping on 'em, though I know the Patriots aren't one to overlook anybody.

Really? I think theyll dominate them, as long as the offense shows up. Last time they held the Bears to 13 points and around 250 yards, which is pretty good. Delhomme moved the ball pretty well but made a few dumb throws. Foster and Davis didnt show up either. I would say these are the top 2 defenses in the NFC, and it should be a great game. But I think that this time the experience of the Panthers will show vs. a QB who has never played in the playoffs, let alone started for that long.

Oh boy, Carolina has the #3 defense and chicago the # 2. Carolina has an insanely better offense than chicago and they will pull it off. The statement is also invalid in that Carolina HAS beat chicago this year, in thier most recent meeting. They have beat chicago so, it is impossible for them to never beat them. A figure of speech i know, but still.

Uh Chicago beat Carolina 13-3 on November 20.

Chicago has the number 2 defense? Show me a team with a better D than Chicago.

Well in terms of yards per game Tampa Bay is number 1, I prefer to go by points per game and Chicago has nearly a 3 point margin over anyone else in the NFL in that category, so I'd have to say Chicago is the best defensive team. However I think this game will come down to who will perform on offense and it is without a doubt that Carolina has a better offense and I think they will win this game.

No offense is good against Chicago. Earlier this year Chicago held Carolina's offense to 3 points. A Thomas Jones 5 yard run, a Rex Grossman 1 yard pass and a Nathan Vasher INT return will be more than enough.

What the hell are you talking about? Haha. The score was 13-3. 2 field goals by Gould and a TD by Mushin Muhammed.

Just kidding never mind. I just realized you were predicting...

You can't discount what Carolina does on defense. The Giants got absolutely nothing against Carolina yesterday and I think we can all agree that the Giants' offense is better than the Bears. I think Delhomme and his offensive line will be expecting the blitz much more than they did in the first game when Delhomme got sacked 9? times. Plus Chicago is much more inexperienced in the playoffs than Carolina. Something which may lead to early jitters and trying to be a little aggressive against Steve Smith which may lead to a big play.

Seattle vs. Washington: I've had a change of heart. If Washington's D is solid like it was, they could win this game. If anything, One Read Seat let me know that Seattle only beat teams like Houston, Arizona, Philadelphia, and San Francisco by more than 10 points. Not 1 good team. They beat the Colts by 15 when the Colts had all their back-ups in. They haven't beaten anyone by more than 10 points which leads me to believe that they could beat Washington by 10. Washington makes it a close game, but I still believe Seattle comes out on top in a close game. Lofa Tatupu, my man from Wrentham, MA, will have a good game.

I just simply believe New England will beat Denver, and if not, then Denver won't cover that small spread. Close game all the way down.

Indianapolis vs. Pitt? Manning sucks so much in the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised if Pitt won, and if they don't win, no way Indy covers that large spread. Pitt is getting hot too.

Carolina will beat Chicago. Don't give me the ******** weather excuse, Carolina won in NY, and it wasn't very toasty there. Carolina and Chicago have tremendous defenses, but when it comes down to it, you can't be depleted of an offense either. Carolina has huge weapons in Delhomme, Goings, Foster, Colbert, STEVE SMITH, and Proehl, who is always good in the playoffs.

Also....See Red...how many more jacking ups can Putzier take?

Who cares? It's not like their linebackers are that good anyway. If you're trying to ask if the Giants had any presence like Urlacher, the answer is no. And even if they had their healthy starting linebackers, there's still no Urlacher-esque presence there. The Giants are skilled with names like Strahan and Umenyiora up front. They're not known for much else. The Panthers attacked the secondary a lot. Linebackers aren't part of the secondary. Steve Smith was who needed to be stopped, and he simply wasn't. That's the secondary's fault.
