Well thats certainly what LA needed...another SS, courtesy of FSN's Ken Rosenthal.

I mean nevermind the glaring black holes at 3rd, 1st, OF, bullpen and starting rotation, especially assuming Weaver isn't being brought back. :dunno:

I was willing to give Colletti a chance, but after missing out on the annual Florida fire-sale, its now December, still no manager, and worse is no one in his right mind wants to manage the team or have anything to do with McCrook.

Pathetic.

wow damn go Dodgers. They certainly have a great leadoff hitter, and hell of a player. This move of Furcal going away from the Braves, as previously indicated will have Atlanta and the Cubs pursuing a trade for the D-Rays' Julio Lugo.

what will they do with izturis now?

Well Izturis had Tommy John surgery so he's out until the middle of 2006, so once he gets back I think they'll make a decision.

Even though we had heard talks of this the last few days I was surprised to hear of it. NOt too sure how I feel about it, but one thing is for sure..they have a hell of a SS position. Furcal and a healthy Izturis make for one hell of a shortstop.

I'm not so sure about this signing, I think the Dodgers paid way too much. Furcal is a career .284 hitter and is not a superstar. $39 million for three years is HUGE, it's more money per year than what the White Sox signed Konerko for, the prize of this off season's free agent class. And it's not like the Dodgers had a huge hole at SS...

thank you. my point exactly. don't get me wrong, i'm glad LA finally did something during this seemingly busy offseason, but i think the money could have been better spent addressing more critical needs.
