This is a GIANT step for the Mets, automatically replacing Looper with him gets them an easy 10 games at least. Along with Delgado they will have a nasty lineup. Only question there is the Starting Pitching, if they sign someone even decent, like Byrd, then they'll be my favorites in the NL East.

All of those guys at their best make a pretty nice rotation. Problem is that they are inconsistent, and injury prone. Definately wouldnt hurt to get some insurance.

Well, being that its the Mets, I think they'll need a big bat(like Manny) to make this seem much better, because, as we've seen this past year, a Met pitcher can go 8 shutout innings, and lose 2-0

At their best that is fine. But obviously, they canot always be at their best. They are all inconsistent. Glavine has thrown a couple great games last year, Benson at his best is pretty good, Zambrano went on that little month long run or so last year where he was pretty lights out. But I agree, Mets need another starter.
