Yes, that's exactly correct. You chose the following teams to win, but they lost :

Dallas

Buffalo

Cleveland

Oakland

NY Jets

Also, you did not use the spread, that means straight -up meaning win or loose.

Its simple. The spread is the amount of points the a team is favored by. For instance, Indy was favored by 8 points. This means if you took Indy with the spread, Indy would have to win by more than 8 for you to win. With the score being 26-7 you would have won. If someone had picked Pittsburgh they would have received 8 points, but lost.

wow thanks SFOC

man Ben Rothelisberger was just plain brutal in last night's game. So many screen passes where his guys were already covered. He barely tried anything deep.

... that has nothing to do with Ben. He doesn't call the plays. If you want to blame anyone blame Cowher for a horrible coaching job all night. 17-26 is a pretty good night considering he sat out a month ... if you wash away his 2nd INT, thrown out of desperation, he had a better night than Peyton did. Let's not go after the wrong people. Saying he was "brutal" proves to me that you either didn't watch a second of this game, or your just a Steelers hater.

I watched the whole game ok, and Im sorry but offense and the defense of the Steelers was sputtering, not as bad as the Pats game but they were definitely sputtering. 17 of 26 yes, but mostly done on screen passes for a grand total of 133 yards, I picked them to win oh please so dont go calling me a "Steelers hater". How did he have the better night than Payton? Payton unlike Ben had a fall back plan if he had seemed rattled to hand the ball to Mr James who rushed for 125 yards or so

TDs

Payton 2

Ben 1

INTs

Payton 1

Ben 2

Yards

Payton 245

Ben 133

I never said the Steelers played a good game. I agree that we sputtered on Offense, and got burned on routes over the middle all night, but it wasn't Ben's fault that we lost. Thats the only reason I got bent out of shape. Blame Cowher, blame Ike Taylor, blame anyone but Ben for this loss. If Ben doesn't play in this game we lose atleast 30-0. Please realize that When I said that Ben had a better night than Peyton I ment more consistant. I guess I didn't make that clear but thats why I put his att-cmp. Obviously he didn't throw for as many yards but if you take away Peytons 80 yard bomb they're almost even in yardage. To my knowledge Ben threw only 2 screen passes. 1 to Cedrick Wilson, and 1 to Randle El, both shut down behind the line. Now there may have been quite a few shovel passes, and a lot of rinking and dinking, but he threw a lot more than just screen passes all night. You have to understand that you don't just send a QB out there running and gunning when he's been out for a month.

Yeah, 17-26 isn't so great for only 133 yards. He had a chance to make a real game of it, but he missed Ward high and wide inside the twenty.

Ben just looked bad to me -- no matter what the statistics would say. Then again, I've said he's overrated since day one.

I remember one occassion on their 1st or 2nd drive, it's a 3rd and 10, maybe, and the Colts rush only 4. Ben reacts as though it's an all-out blitz and dumps it off to his check-down reciever, whom I think was either a fullback or TE on a little 3 yard route. Keep in mind, the Colts didn't even show blitz.

Roethlisberger can't beat you. The Patriots and Colts have realized this, and have dedicated themselves completely towards shutting down the run.

HE MISSED A MONTH. HE MISSED 4 WEEKS BEFORE THIS GAME. How many QBs in the league can miss 4 weeks then come back and complete 17-26 passes? You're right though man a 20-3 record is definatly one that an overatted QB would have.

Roethlisberger only beat, the Pats, Eagles, Cowboys, Bengals, Dolphins, Jaguars, and Ravens last year with his arm in his first year in the league. You're right he's never beaten anyone ... don't even think about those 2 undefeated teams he beat in a row last year.

I thought if anyone in this league could appreciate Ben it'd be Pats fans. It seems like when it comes to Tom Brady all the matters to Pats fans is Wins and Losses, but when it comes to any other QB you bring up stats. The only stat that matters is 20-3 in the regular season. Find me a QB in the history of the NFL with a better record in his first 23 games ... oh wait ... THERE ISN'T ONE!

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl... is he among the best QB's ever?

Roethlisberger beat all those teams?

Roethlisberger beat two undefeated teams in a row?

Did he play the ironman role, strap on the helmet for defense, and hold the Eagles to 3 points?

Did he rush the ball for almost 200 yards against the Pats? And just out of curiosity, what happened to Big Ben's numbers when the Pats held the running game in check? Those 3 INT's are, probably, the reason they lost that game.

4 weeks out is no excuse for throwing to a checkdown WR for a 5 yard game when you have all the time in the world on 3rd and 10.

Face it -- you'll never see this from an unbiased standpoint because your colors are black and gold. I have nothing against the Steelers. I wanted them to win -- I wanted them to beat the Pats this year and in the playoffs last year.

Didn't say Ben single handedly beat any of those teams, but he either led big drives which put us on top or he led big comeback drives in those games. If you're going to bash him for what he did last night then you have to give him credit for winning some games as well. You can't have it 1 way ... either you give him credit for his wins, or you don't bash him for his loses. 4 weeks out is an excuse because you don't have your timing. That's why he was dumping the ball off, because he wasn't sure how much time he had. It's impossible to simulate NFL game speed in practice and thats exactly why he was going to his last reciever earlier. If you ask any player, former player, coach, analyst, anyone who knows anything about football, they'll tell you that timing is what hurts you the most after time off and 4 weeks off will throw off anyones timing. You're right that I'll never be unbiased, but saying that Ben cost us the game is just silly.

I didn't say Ben cost you the game. That first Colts offensive play didn't help. It could've been stopped by some fundamentals. Never take your eyes off the WR when you're playing man coverage without support from the safety. That's obvious.

I'm saying Ben was awful, and missed some passes which could've gotten you back into the game.

There's a good 10-15 QB's I'd take over Roethlisberger, if I was building a team and age wasn't a factor.

AGAIN ... HIS TIMING WAS OFF ... watch NFL Live today and see how much they talk about Ben's timing being off and that being his main problem. OH yeah ... NEWSFLASH: The guy is 25 f***ing years old. How good are most 25 year old QBs in this league?

... if I was building a team and age wasn't a factor there would be 50 QBs I'd take over Ben. I mean who wouldn't go take Joe Montana over Ben, but age IS a factor.

I'm done having this argument because neither of us will ever accept each others points.

The last thing I'll say is something I already did before. What's more important in the NFL ... how many deep passes you throw? Or how many wins you get?

Saying he had a bad, or "brutal", game isn't bashing him, it's stating a fact. Look at the line:

17-26 (65% - good), 133 yds (5.11 yds./att. - wretched), 1/2 TD/INT (not good)

Two of the three big areas aren't good, and one of them is very bad, thus Roethlisberger had a bad game. If someone points that out, don't get your panties in a bunch, just agree and move on.

My expectations for him were much lower than yours seem to be. He's coming 4 weeks of inactivity ... he's playing the best team in the league ... in their house. I hoped he could come in and build confidence with short/mid range stuff, and take some shots down field. He took an occasional shot down field and it was clear that his timing wasn't there (example: throwing behind Hines Ward when he was wide open. And late to Cedrick Wilson on his leaping catch.). He had no choice but to rink and dink and he did it well, but couldn't do much else. If we could have established any kind of a running game we would have had a much better chance. This team isn't built to throw 30 yard passes. We only pass when necessary, and when we do it's mid range mostly. Passing is not the Steelers game, and Ben rarely puts up gaudy numbers.

... don't make excuses. How many other QBs have I seen come back from 4 weeks off and played as good as they did before they left? How about Donovan McNabb in 2002, coming off of a broken leg and 6 weeks off?

And let me rephrase, if I had to take a QB for one year, I'd take 10-15 QB's over Roethlisberger.

Not many 25 year olds are as good as you seem to think Big Ben is... then again, not even he's as good as you think he is.

I'm not impressed when he doesn't lose a regular season game in his first year when he has a top 5 NFL defense (see: best defense in the league), a top 5 NFL running game (see: second best in the league), and Hines Ward and Plaxico Burress to throw to in his first year. Teams that followed that recipe under Bill Cowher went to AFC Championship games with the likes of Neil O'Donnell and Kordell Stewart playing QB.

Like I said, he didn't hold the Eagles to 3 points, and he didn't rush for 200 yards. But when his defense has struggled, the run game has been shut down, and he's had to make plays to win a football game... he hasn't done it. So forgive me for not bowing down before him until that's the case. Trent Dilfer's not an all-time great because he won the Super Bowl -- he even won something like 11 or 12 straight games that year. He also had the leagues best defense -- he also had one of the leagues top running games.

Just want to correct myself ... I was in a rage. He is 23.
