I got Thunder just because. And on the good side, Melo will NOT go to NJ for now!

Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov has reportedly advised the team's management to "walk away" from a potential trade for Carmelo Anthony.

This bombshell could be the culmination of the deal's disintegration, after Melo refused to even meet with Nets' brass. Prokhorov said the deal has taken too much time and cost the Nets games, and added that it's his "final decision." New Jersey would undoubtedly still jump at Melo if the deal fell into their laps, but for now they might be forced to set their sights on next year's crop of free agents. Jan. 19 - 5:58 pm et

No surprise, Melo never wanted to go to NJ to begin with, if he got traded to them he wouldn't have signed an extension. His heart is set on joining Amare Stoudemire and the Knicks.

And they're going to screw Denver hard.

Honestly, I was fully intent on dropping this, but you just keep tossing me fat ones that I can't bring myself to pass up.

Jesus motherf***ing Christ' date=' JE. I laid out my reasons for why I dislike LeBron. Your "counterarguments" were light on the logic and heavy on the ad hominem. You are welcome to disagree with me and Ital, but there is really no call for this:[/quote']

Terrific. Be careful about throwing around that 'light on logic' term after that frivolous 'things I hate about LeBron' list you drew up, champ.

And you actually kept going on the next two pages. You are not the basketball guru you think you are

I never claimed to be a basketball guru. Why are you putting words in my mouth?

and you are pathetic in a debate. You are a small, bitter, infantile person.

And yet, you're the one flailing about trying to justify your petty, junior high level hatred for some basketball player who you just think likes himself too much.

Yes, I do want fries with that.

I have never thought highly of you, and this recent display only confirms what my instincts told me. I gave you an olive branch with my advice about Daric Barton (who, by the way, was a bad pick), but of course you ignored it.

I told you why I hadn't put Barton at 1B, everyone would knock me down for not having enough power coming from that position. That's not ignoring anything, Einstein. I didn't even discount the possibility of doing it. Your memory kinda sucks (as if your LeBron bullshitting didn't make that clear enough).

Oh, and Barton produced at a near all-star level last year (due to excellent defense and being an on base machine), without showing an inkling of power all year (something on-base machines are known to develop). He's also has a minimum salary. And I wanted to ensure that I didn't lose him to someone else by waiting too many rounds. So I'm pretty happy with it.

Look at that, even your pathetic attempt to take me down a peg using the baseball draft (lol) blew up in your face. Do better.

I realize that I sometimes have tonal problems and can come off as snarky' date=' but JE's recent posts are beyond the pale. And it's a pattern with him whenever he gets into an argument with someone.[/quote']

If you notice, I'm just fine when I get into back and forths with reasonable people like Y228, even though we often disagree. Because he has a brain inside his head and manages to keep some level of objectivity and, well, non-dumbassery in his posts. Which I respect. Your stupid ass just brings out the worst in me. :(

Okay, NOW I'm done.

Spurs lose again to the Hornets. I guess the easiest way to beat the Spurs is to face them the day after they played another game. And both of their last 2 losses (Hornets and Celtics) came the DAY after the Spurs played the Knicks.

Might as well make it 19 when the Nuggets beat them on Friday.

What's the record for most consecutive losses in the NBA?

Interestingly enough, I think that Cleveland also has that record, losing 24 consecutive games from the end of the 1981-1982 and the beginning of the 1982-1983 season. The record for most consecutive games lost all in one season is 23, shared by Vancouver in 1996 and Denver in 1997-1998.

How about them Nuggets Jbay ;)

Well at this point I'm kind of expecting losses and hoping the young guys keep developing. I was actually at the game last night and there was more Nuggets fans then Wizards fans.. well at least Carmelo fans anyway. :thumbdown

Lol but hey it can be worse. Look at the Cavs ;)

Thats true and at least Wizards have some guys they can build around. When I look at Cavs roster I don't see anybody that really has like star potential or anything.. Most of their roster is old guys or scrubs.. Wizards at least have some guys with some star potential in Wall and maybe Blatche, Young and McGee.

I bet they can get the record. That's what happens when your best player leaves for Miami-- losing Big Z was the worst thing that could have happned to this team.

The only team I saw the Cavs beating was the Nets but they didn't. The next couple games are:

vs Denver

@Orlando

@Miami

vs Indiana

@Memphis

vs Portland

@Dallas

Out of all these teams their best chance is against the Pacers which I don't see them winning.
