fair enough' date=' but he is one guy that writes about this stuff that agrees with me. I still don't see either one getting significantly more minutes than the other and I think it'll be evident by mid-season which one is better, or if there isn't much seperation between the two.[/quote']

I do agree that they will be seeing similar minutes and while personally being a Rondoholic, I think that Telfair should be starting because he has quietly played extremely well. We may see changes in starters, but either way between Rondo and Telfair, each unit has a solid point guard.

I think that rookies shouldn't really be starting unless they're on a s***** team, or the next Jesus Christ, like Chris Paul.

He didn't really have anything to do with the shooting. He was there that night, and had his chain stolen, which is why he left the game against the Knicks early, to go look at mugshots.

But according to police, it was two members of Fabolous' entourage that stole his chain. Not long after, Telfair makes a phone call and Fabolous gets shot. Sounds suspicious to me.

Celts start tonight. :)

SOTK recently asked me who I thought would start, and who I like more, Rondo or Telfair.

First off, Telfair will start.

I love both of these guys. Both good players and can really help this team. Rondo was impressive in the preseason, and as was Telfair. But I think the unexpectedness of Rondo overshadowed how well Telfair played. Telfair should start and should see a lot of time at the point, more than Rondo.

Was at the game tonight. Delonte did not have a good game. The FT shooting was terrible. If you take out Wally's numbers the rest of the team was 13-26 from the line, lead by Pierce's 7-15. Its too bad because Pierce played an excellent game other than that. He pulled down 19 boards.

Unlike many Celtics fans, I'm not worried right now...if anything I'm just as optimistic as I was before this game. Delonte is hurting and he hadn't practiced much leading up to the game, it was Rondo's first game as a pro, Telfair's first game in Boston, and the Red ceremony was a tough act to follow. Also, Telfair/Rondo were matched up against one of the best point guards in the NBA, which is something that should not be taken lightly. I'm not one to make excuses...but it's a long season and we still have 81 games left untill we can start talking about heading to the lottery.

Great game by Pierce though: 29 points, 19 rebounds...very impressive performance.

I am also optimistic, with a promising performance by Rondo. I think Telfair will be very good, and with Rondo and Telfair on the court, West as a 3 point specialist, and Pierce running the show the Cs should be fine. I want to see Ryan Gomes incorporated heavily into the offensive gameplan.

I was at the Suns home opener against the Clippers last night. Amare, looks as if he is gaining his swagger back. He had a nice game, and tried a few dunks which got the crowd roaring. Matrix was his usual self, and Nash played great too. I love NBA season. :D B)

'Melo opens up his season here in just a few minutes.

Don't care too much about the rest of the team this year. :D

Though, that'll change I'm sure.

HA! Is that lingering anger towards Kiki? ;)

i think the C's are one big trade away from being a legit contender in the East. Id love to see Amare in a Celtics uniform. :D

Perk/Al, Delonte and a pick for Amare? I can dream

Well, I thought the incompetence stopped at Kiki. We still didn't pick up a shooter. We've only need one for, what, 3 years?

I didn't mean to seem too pessimistic. I like the team they have assembled, and I like Delonte, I was just pointing out he had a very disapointing opening night. And the numbers might look good for Pierce but he was 10-23 from the floor and 7-15 from the line. The boards are impressive but the scoring really isn't.

Telfair and Rondo were hurt by the fact they were going against Chris Paul, one of the few guys in the league faster and better ball handlers.

This whole little 'referees don't take s***' deal is stupid.

They've been so inconsistent. 'Melo got ejected for less than the bitching that Cassell was just doing.

Posted

I agree. That 'Melo ejection was plain ********. You can't take the emotion out of the game. You just can't. The NBA is rapidly becoming the biggest pussy team sport, outside the 'too much celebration' in the NFL.

Ugly, lucky win for the Clippers. Tim Thomas is the man, though. :D

Boy oh boy did he get the boo-treatment here last night. Man, people were pissed. Every time he touched the ball, he was booed. And he got probably a full booing (except for a few cheers, I stood and clapped...I got deny what he did for us last season) when he was introduced.

You're probably going to be saying that alot this year bro (about Timmy T). He's fun to have on your team.

Dream all you want but he's a Sun for life.

I agree the C's are climbing back up the ladder of good teams in the East. You guys should have a fun team the next couple of years, unless Ainge has another brain typing mis-fire and trades a key piece of your team away for crap. (I, personally didn't thnk the Antoine Walker trade was smart at all...)

any other celtics fans think trading Telfair for a big guy would be a good idea?

I like Rondo/Delonte as our 2 PG, with Allen also able to play the 1.

Posted

With Tony Allen being a complete f***ing faggot. He's so bad I officially despise him more than Scalabrine. Scalabrine may suck but he just stands there and does nothing, contrary to Allen who feels the need to make offensive fouls, turn the ball over, and just flat out suck.

That being said, the Celtics suck. Past Pierce and Wally they blow so much. They can't hold a f***ing 8 point lead with under 2 minutes left. They have no defense, they turn the ball over a million times a game, and foul people like its they're job. As much as I love the Celtics, they f***ing suck.

Posted

Dallas, Denver, and Phoenix all suck and Atlanta's on top of the East...

What the hell is wrong with the NBA this season?

The Nuggets are a mystery to me. They've been in a position to break each of their games open, and have had leads late, too, but they have no idea how to win games. How does a playoff team from last year not know how to win games?

When Carmelo Anthony gets ejected for throwing his headband on the ground, you know the NBA is f***ed up. I wouldn't be surprised if, to some extent, this technical foul ******** affects the way teams are playing. I'm not going to say it's an excuse for teams to suck, but really, the way this season is going and the ******** policy for technicals this year, I wouldn't be surprised if Rasheed went 82 for 82...
Posted
Well we ended our 4 game snide, barely. I didn't see the whole game but saw the 4th and realized we were too close to blowing a 34 point lead (albeit the bench was in). Amare played great too, I wish I woulda seen him play.

I wouldn't even say "throwing"... it was more of a toss.

It is s***. He wasn't showing up the ref, he was frustrated. Let's not take the emotion out of the game...

Last night, the Cavaliers beat the Celtics. The final score was 94-93. After looking at the box score you might say, "Not bad". Five of our players had double digits in points, we're a young team, and we lost by a mere point on the road to one of the best teams in the conference. Not a big deal, right? Wrong. Tonight was one of the lowest points that I have ever seen the Celtics hit in a long time.

After starting the game with a commanding 10-0 advantage, it looked as if tonight was their night. Everything was going their way...the shots were falling, the balls were being deflected right to them, and the momentum was flowing. Before you knew it, they were leading by over 20 points and still dominating the game even when their starters were on the bench. They went into halftime with a comfortable lead and a win in sight. In the third quarter, they were up by 25 points...and then all hell broke loose.

I'm not going to fully recap the fourth quarter because it was absolutely brutal. Paul Pierce fell apart and the team was drained. Cleveland came alive, led by emotional and physical leader, Lebron James. Not only did he take over the game, but he showed why he is one of the greatest players ever to play in the NBA. To think that Lebron James is a human being after watching this game would be irrational.

At the same time, there were some positive things to take away from this game...but then again, who cares? I mean, if this team can't hold a 25 point lead for 12 minutes, they're hopeless and pathetic. I could rant and rave about Doc, Danny, and the players but I'll leave it at a few sentences for now.

1. Doc needs to be fired. I don't think he is as bad of a coach as people play him out to be but there is no question that he is a terrible fit for this group. He is obviously incapable of drawing up 4th quarter gameplans and at least some of the blame has to be placed on him.

2. Danny needs to be fired or demoted. This man is also incapable of being in control of a franchise. He's had some good draft picks in his tenure, but the bad outways the good. He is incapable of signing a quality free agent or making an impact trade that would help the team. The Telfair trade was a success and the Wally trade was pretty equal, but his inability to acquire a big man to complement Pierce is less than encouraging. I would be happy to see him demoted to a scout because I think he is great with building around the draft.

3. Pierce needs to be dealt. Our best player is also our best trading chip and if we want another championship in the next decade, trading Pierce is our best chance for gaining some more youth or high draft picks.

The day Wyc realizes that some changes NEED to be made is the day that this franchise begins moving in the right direction again.
