The White Sox catch a huge break with the rainout and Anaheim having to win in 5 games. The Angels didn't get to set their rotation, and their BP could be running on fumes the whole series without a deep game by a starter in the first 3 games. Pitching matchups:

Contreras vs. Byrd?

Buehrle vs. Washburn/Colon?

Garland vs. Lackey

Garcia vs. Santana

The first two games are looking rough for the Angels. Colon and Washburn are very questionable due to injury/illness. That being said, Lackey and Santana have looked impressive. A split in the first two games in Chicago could throw a bunch of momentum their way with their best two pitchers on the hill in games 3 and 4.

well Garland has faced lackey earlier this season and garland came out winning that game. But that was before the allstar break and before Garland just broke down.

I think this series will be good, not close to the NLCS, which will be the feature series (like last year with the ALCS) and I think Anaheim will win. I heard Byrd for game 1 also. Win one in Chicago, and they most likely have the series with three in Anaheim. Washburn is sick, not hurt. Depending on how much medicine is pumped into him and how fast he recovers from sicknesses, he could pitch this series. Even if Anaheim loses, I don't think the White Sox win it in 5. Hell no. They mauled a out of gas Clement, and besides that they didn't score in oodles. I like Anaheim in this series even with their "tired state." Remember the Sox last year, they won after a marathon ALDS. Anaheim in 6 IMO.

I am not into making predictions, so I'll just thank Boston once again for breaking their own curse last year. I hope the Black Sox are vanquished within 3 weeks...

It is simply too bad the Yankees couldn't hold up their end of the bargain... It would have been nice to smack around that miserable, overpaid, overhyped group of senior citizens on the way to the series. Just like the Red Sox did last year. Thanks for setting the standard, Boston...

8 straight and 4 in the Bronx. Go figure- New York just can't hang.

I fear L.A. quite a bit more than the Bronx Bastards, quite frankly. The Colon situation makes it untenable for predictions, but I have a feeling he'll be on the hill in game 5 (should it be necessary for either team).

Let's go White Sox! It's our Sox this year!

oh...

and the Yankees suck!!!

And the hits just keep on rolling for Anaheim. Colon will miss the ALCS with shoulder inflamation. Esteban Yan is filling his roster spot for the series. They did get a bit of good news though. Jarrod Washburn is OK to start game 2.

I'm rootin' for either the Cardinals or the Astros, the Cardinals because we swept em last year and theyre the best in the majors. The Astros cause of the Rocket. In this series I want the ANgels to win but I say the Sox in 6.

Pretty good game, big win for the Angels. Paul Byrd stepped up BIG time, and pitched a good game on only 3 days rest to. I predict Buehrle will pitch a gem tomm and the Chi Sox will win.

btw, what the hell has gotten into garrett anderson? someone test him for something b/c he's on fire.

Garrett Anderson has ALWAYS been a great hitter and given NO props. He has like 1,000 career RBI's or something like that. Great hitter and quiet guy, that's why he is just "coming out from no where" in everyones eyes.

The White Sox stole one tonight. the 9th should have been over, but a bad call by an ump, lead to a double by crede to drive in the winning run. Crazy end of this game. Well pitched game by Buehrle though.

lmao theses umps have been brutal this year. I wouldnt be suprised if this prompts instant replay because that was the worst call I've seen this year. How do you call someone out then give them first base because the hitter ran down to first? If AJ walks back to the dugout nothing happens. Heads up play by AJ but the umps really f***ed that one up.
