from what I see, everyone on that team regards him as the leader anyway. If I were a conspiracy type guy, I would say Varitek got the nod cuz he's white due to Boston's racial rep, but that would be a very foolish and inflammatory statement.

If someone actually thinks that Varitek got the nod over Ortiz because he is white then they are the same people who make pilgrimages to Roswell every year to discuss their abductions from little green aliens. Enough of this Boston is racist crap! Papi, Pedro and Manny could not have been treated any better by the vast majority of white fans who shell out loads of cash to see games at Fenway park.

Ortiz in many ways deserves the MVP, we all agree, but I now feel kinda crappy about his odds...

 

He didn't come up in the Yankee series, and that whole time dumb a-rod didn't once plea his case for MVP. I think Ortiz isn't the smartest apple, and he should have -someone- to tell him not to flap his trap like that.

 

Every damn article I read online now is pushing a-rod for MVP, is it because if ortiz's comments, or because a-rod is going to get a gold glove? It better not because of him saying dumb stuff.

I did think it was a bit tacky with all the slef-promotion Ortiz was doing for the MVP. But hey, I guess he's just wearing his emotions on his sleeve. Funny how when Damon does that, SOME of the fans who used to love him so much now turn on him.
