That game doesn't mean a thing anymore...14-2 ends with the same result as 3-2. They're going to come out fighting again today, there's no reason you should not. You can't dwell on these losses or you will end up home within a few days. As a Yankee fan, I'm surprised you're even saying that.

typical of a yankee fan to find a sox forum to check if the fans are in panic mode or not. as stated 14-2 is the same as 3-2. we are down by ONE game. did we not come back 0-2 to beat oakland in 2003? did we not come back from 0-3 to beat the yankees then go on to sweep the cards in the ws? the yankees were the biggest chokers in the history of sports last year, zip it up.

Shouldn't be a panic button just the same way us White Sox fans don't think the series is "ours" by any means. The game yesterday was enjoyable for us, but today it means absolutely NOTHING. Tonight's game, just like the first game, will be decided on how each starting pitcher does. Buehrle could easily pitch a 2 hit complete game that lasts 1:45. He could just as easily give up 4 in the first and go 5 giving up 6 or 7 runs. There is no reason for anyone to panic OR celebrate yet though.

There's no panic because you're banned!
haha.

There's also no panic because we expected to lose 1 outa 2 in Chicago. We expected to lose the Clement start. We expected to win the Wells one.

Of course, when I say We, I mean I......

If we lose today there might be cause for concern, but one loss is nothing to worry about

Nor should it be. Just like RedSox fans have had to overcome history to see their team get it done, so it is with the White Sox fans. Personally, I'd like to see us win a playoff series before I start talking smack. As for now, I'll say that the White Sox are quite capable of taking one in Boston. Wakefield is begging to be run on, and no one knows what Schilling will give in his start.

This is true. But it is funny though, the Red Sox had to overcome "the curse" and the Cubs have an even more stupid curse in that billygoat thing. But the White Sox have no curse like that to overcome.

It's probably just me, but I really don't like the White Sox because of the whole Black Sox scandal. How can you root for a team who, when they last had a chance to win the World Series, lost it on purpose???

If there was ever a team deserving of a curse forever, it is the White Sox.

Man, that was almost 90 years ago! Even then, our best player (Shoeless Joe Jackson) played a great series, but was banned by Landis after being acquitted.

Not trying to pick a fight about it, but the Red Sox "curse" was self-inflicted as well.

BTW, the last time the White Sox had a chance to win a WS was 1959. They did not lose it on purpose, as far as we know.

you just contradicted yourself saying you "came back" and the yankees choked at the sametime.

I would be worried if I were a Red Sox fan and I lost 14-2, but I haven't seen anything panicking yet huh

And can you give us a good reason to be worried after Game 1 of the series. Is it because the Red Sox are behind in the series well they have been down 2-0 before in the ALDS and still come back to win it 3-2 over the Angels. And if they can come back and beat the Yankees 4 straight then this team is capable of anything. We still have a possible 4 games left against the White Sox so loosing 14-2 isn't a reason to worry.

Im going to go off topic a bit here but. Im rooting for the red sox obviously, but if we couldnt win it, I would be pulling for the Chi Sox just because it would mean alot to many members of my family. Like Red Sox fans before last season, there are tons of people who should see their team win the World Series.

I'm pulling for the Braves if the Red Sox don't get it. If it was a Red Sox/Braves World Series I would s***. I could get great tickets to Braves WS home games for like $20!

Im hoping for an Astros/Red Sox World Series. Course Sox would be no match against them pitching staff wise. it would still be great ton see Rog back at Fenway Park

Hell, I'd even root for the Astros vs Yanks if the Red Sox don't make it ( God forbid ).

I'm not sure if you could say "no match" against there pitching. You do have to remember that NL batting is kinda pathetic compared to AL batting. But wow what a series with: Curt Schilling, David Wells, Roger Clemens, Tim Wakefield, Andy Pettite, and Roy Oswalt.

.....almost like a hall of fame game

Sure would...Either Astros/Yankees ro Astros/Red Sox would be a dream Series for me. I dont know if you remember, but we had a similar discussion in another thread.

God forbid the Yanks fall out in the ALDS I will be rooting for Boston all the way just to see that matchup.

it definitely would be, have all sports fans across the country salivating at the pitching matchups

Game 1: Curt Schilling vs Roger Clemens

Game 2: David Wells vs Andy Petitte

Game 3: Tim Wakefield vs Roy Oswalt

Im hoping its 'stros v sox world series, with the series going to 7 games and Clemens pitching the final game at Fenway. The game would be tied 2-2 going into the bottom of the 9th, and Clemens will still be pitching until Ortiz hits a walkoff homer to end Clemens' career.

Yes we did. It was right then and right now.

GO ASTROS!!!

My favorite NL team (besides those hapless Mutts).

edit: last night I dreamt that the Mets won the World Series, which I thought was a little weird because they didn't make it to the playoffs

Poor Mets

hah, as nice as that sounded (at least up to the part about Clemens pitching in the 9th, tie game, Ortiz up) you know Phil Garner would have Lidge in there.

I doubt Rog' retires after this year, there is no rush to get into the hall as his mother has passed on and the opprotunity to be in Spring Training with his son next year would be something that he probably wouldnt want to pass up. But who knows with Roger.

My brother paid $325 a piece, Main Championship I think there a steal ( 1st base side). I will be there, cheering for ( if we win tonight) a possible clinch.
