Hendrickson to take the hill in finale, as Yankees Regain their Wang

Tampa Bay (58-82) at New York (78-60), 7:05 p.m. ET

After splitting the first two games of their set with the Yankees, the Devil Rays hope to win the series with a victory on Thursday night. If the Yanks win the game, it will be their first series win over the Rays this season. Left-hander Mark Hendrickson will start for Tampa Bay. He last faced the Yankees on Aug. 17 at Tropicana Field, and he allowed four earned runs in 5 2/3 innings. Hendrickson left the game trailing, 5-2, but the Devil Rays came back to win, 7-6.

Right-hander Chien-Ming Wang will start for the Yankees. Wang last pitched against the Tampa Bay on June 23. He took the loss after giving up five earned runs in six innings. After finishing their three-game series against the Yankees, the Rays will travel home for a six-game homestand against the Blue Jays and Yanks. The Yankees will stay at home as their hated rivals, the 1st place Boston Red Sox come into town for a key series.

That was the worst attemyt atr streaching a single to a double I've ever seen

Wang has been bad vs the Ray, but then again, so have the Yankees, Wang is the player to watch tonight, to see how he is in his comeback

Sheff's not in the lineup tonight. :o

Eh...Joe's probably resting him for the Sox series; no need for him to worsen any possible injury in a game against Tampa Bay.

he should be in the lineup, I mean you already lost the season series to tampa

Exactly, I know we need to win, but I'd rather have Sheff hit a homer vs the Sox than Worsen his injury and be on the DL or anything like that

If Wang gets thruogh the 1st inning in one piece I think he will have a good outting. Once again the Yankees are facing the worst starting pitcher in the AL. They have to put up a 6 spot on this guy. He faced the Red Sox a couple of months ago and he didnt get an out. As I said he is the worst starting pitcher in the AL......treat him like it.

Joe, for the love of God, sit Ruben down. He is a tired old man with bad legs.

This hasnt been Torre's best year. Hes made some bone headed moves this year but he seems to have this undying love for Ruben so he keeps him in there.
