I guess calling in morning talk shows on his own is not trying to get attention when he was injured. He couldn't stand not being in the spotlight when he was injured so he took it upon himself to call these shows and say "Hey i'm still around!!". He's been that way is whole career, it has nothing to do with what team he plays for. that whole bloody sock thing was a farce anyway. If your bleeding usually the spot will enlarge and not be in the shape of a square. Now I'm not saying it wasn't real blood, but if he was bleeding the spot would have gotten bigger and the stain would've been a big non shaped stain. I think he did that to make him a immortal. It's s*** like that I can't stand about the guy. Why did he testifie on steroids like his fat ass ever took them. The onlt thing he takes is dunkin Doughnuts. Sorry I'll get off my soapbox now.

HMMM, so you've had your ankle surtered (sp?) huh? Dude, get over the sock thing, it wasn't fake, he did it against NYY and obviously you have to brush it off as an act. And he was ASKED to testify by CONGRESS...I think if the government asks you to do something like that, you do it.

Who cares if it's real or not? It shouldn't be a big deal. You're getting paid millions of dollars, I think you can pitch with a little discomfort around your ankle and not make a huge deal about it. Look at hockey players, football players play with broken bones.

"A little discomfort"? That's just a wee bit of an understatement.

The man had a surgical procedure on the ankle he drives towards the plate with within 24 hours of pitching in an elimination game in the ALCS. That is toughness.

I hate how everyone calls him a media whore. Is it his fault that reporters ask him questions? Is it his fault congress called him in? Is it his fault the media loves him? Look up at the banner on the site before you start bashing Red Sox ... it says Talksox ... not Talkyankees.[/quote

First of all how do you know he's calling these talk shows and they're not calling him? Second ... come on dude grow up. When's the last time one of us mentioned the sock thing? It's jealous Yankee fans like you that keep bringing it up ... not us. To think for even a second that he faked the injury is ridiculous. I mean I'm sure he planned to hurt it in the Angels series just so he could come back and be a hero in the ALCS. Yeah he really risked the whole season to make himself out to be a hero ... you're right man ... you caught him. Then he sat out most of this year, and is only now starting again to further sell the injury. You're line of logic makes a lot of sense.

He testified because congress subpoenaed him which ment he had to go or else he would have been arrested.

Wow attack the guy for being a little extra round this season. Just remember that fatty helped orchestrate the biggest comeback(and CHOKE!) in baseball history.

I don't wanna say anything about Schilling last year, becuase it'll just staryt a huge fight, and I think theres a few more Sox fans here :D , do I'll be out numberd, but I heard somewhere people think what Schilling did was better than what Willis Reed did. And I just gotta say..not even close, The Knicks were playing really bad without him, and he came into the game with a broken...Broken...ankle and played and scored 8 points to give his team faith or whatever and win the game. Schilling went 1-1 with an ERA of 6.36 in the ALCS, and in one outing only made it like 3 innings.

?? check your stats bro, Curt in the 2004 playoffs went 3-1 with a 3.57 ERA. That 3 innings you were talking about, thats when he injured his ankle against the Angels. yea i think he kinda quieted the Yankees bats down when he came back against them along with striking out the side

If you can't make a consistent post, take you time, think about it ( ask for some help if you want to ) then make a post. First, you go to great lengths to state that you don't want to say anthing about Schilling last year, but that's exactly what you do. Then you state that"some people think, who is some people that hasn't been stated here. Then you choose an analogy of a totally different sport and totally different circumstances. Reed made a token appearence. Yes, he may have provided some motivation. But his 8 points had little to do with the games outcome ( out of 100+ pts ). Also, this was one game and a few minutes. With Schilling, we're talking about 3 series. I won't even bother with your supposed "stats" those have alreading been ridiculed. Take some time to think about waht you're going to post or don't bother.

I am too. You can see a real progression in his starts. KC was just plain bad. TB had a strong late stretch. And yesterday, despite the final statistical line, was the best he has looked. Its still a work in progress, but the trend is headed in the right direction.

despite the leadoff triple Manny couldve caught or at least held it to a double. Curt was lights out his first 3 innings. I mean a triple came with no outs, and with his pitching great defense behind him he retired the next 3 batters he had faced. The 3rd inning he had to throw like 25 pitches, which maybe had worn him down but still he went deeper into the game and threw over 100 pitches.

for the record, if you're talking about willis reed from the knicks, as opposed to the willis reed that lives in that delusional pea brain yours. and if you're refering to the laker series.

It was tied 3-3 and the knicks certainly werent playing bad ball they did however, get crushed without willis in game six and as such needed an inspiration to win.

he had a bum knee, not a broken ankle..and he scored 4 points and played 26 or 7 minutes..so just to set the record straight when you are drawing comparison it might help to get more than the guys name correct.

It was a great performance but more an emotional one than a tangible impactful and thus not as great as schilling's IMO--whether its the version you stated or the truth.

whatever the hell all that has to do with schilling's next start I dont know.

It was Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals, and nobody knew if Willis Reed would play. The center and captain of the New York Knicks had suffered a torn muscle in his right thigh during Game 5 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and had not played in Game 6 when Wilt Chamberlain's 45 points and 27 rebounds enabled the Lakers to tie the series at 3-3.

So we were both wrong

By not saying anything bad about Schilling, I meant exactly what YanksRule said "Shillings a fat ass, looks for attention" stuff like that, I didn't say anything like that, and since the topic of Schillings sock and his play of the ALCS came up(not by me may I add) It reminded me of a special I saw on TV. ESPN did a top 10 of the greatest moments with an injury, and Schilling was in front of Willis Reed(who it was, idk what you mean by me getting the name wrong). Which upset me, Schilling was schedualed to play those games, and Reed took it upon himself to go out there and play to push his team to a vistory. Schilling just pitched in a game he was supposed to, shut us down, and let his team do the rest. But just because I said some peolpe think and noone brought it up doesn't mean that no one ever thought about it, half the people here probably don't even know what I'm talking about with Willis Reed. And maybe it was my fault because I picked a New York team player, and stuff like that. But I will admit I took this too far off topic, but I just joined and all these things have been in my head since October, so I just wanted to get it out.

Why do we even have seperate threads? Why not just one giant cluster f*** where we bitch and moan and argue about whatever topic comes up? Because thats pretty much whats going on anyway.

Evertime that it gets to that point ( which seems to be often ) it goes to Fights and Crap.
