the fact that 12 of his 14 homeruns this season have all been solo homeruns is laughable enough

The fact that he's hitting in the leadoff spot actually doesnt....

just because he's a lead off hitter, doesnt get him off for sucking at moving runners along. oh please dude he still needs to move the runners on base. Runners in scoring position/2 outs just has a paltry 228 avg, and yes that is considered bad. Lets go over to Johnny Damon who bats at 382 with RISP/2outs.

ah please we all know that Jeter has been great his whole career. The fact that hes having a "off-year" in that situation tells me nothing about him. Post Damon career stats with RISP/2 outs. 1 year out of 10 doesnt change a career.

Several of those 'useless' solo shots have ended up being the difference in the game...

I love when Red Sox fans talk about Yankee baseball...always ends with me laughing...

I was referring to the HR part.

as a matter a fact he had 2 HR's on back to back days against the Rangers and both HR's were the difference in each game. lmao

now i get to laugh, it couldve been a blowout more than close to a save situation, yanks win 7-3 but strand 15

Doesn't really matter how many we stranded, that's bound to happen with any team that gets a lot of people on base; only thing that's important is we got 4 more across the plate than the A's did.

LOL! I know right, and all of that stuff means that the Yankees don't actually get the win in the standings.

It doesn't make one bit of difference, and it is pathetic that you're trying to cheapen a Yankee win.

the record doesnt show it but the Yankees have played well against good teams on the road. They sweept and took 2 of 3 AT Oakland, they took 3 of 4 AT Fenway and they took 2 of 3 at US Cellular Field.

5 - 1 @ Oakland (although the first three...meh)

4 - 3 @ Boston

2 - 1 @ Chicago

Of course.... 1 - 3 @ Anaheim.....damn you Gordon. :thumbdown

oh well still have 3.5 game lead, and with yanks not playing tomorrow sox will have a chance to get it up to 4 game lead going into the Angels series while yankees play the uh... Devil Rays

If the Red Sox can sweep the DRays at home, why cant the Yankees? :dunno: Angels will be a tough team, watch out for them.

Also, when it takes a grand slam just to tie the game...it tends to fit the definition of 'blow out,' at least in my opinion.

Well, my rule of thumb is two grand slams, I dont consider a 6 - 0 game a "blowout" persay, but a 10 - 4 game feels like more of a blowout.. :dunno:

Honestly (and I never thought I'd say this, but I have to) I am worried whenever we play the D Rays. We always go into series with them with alot of momentum and looking like we've finally put it all together and then just fall apart. I don't know if they're just the team we struggle against (every team has one) or Lou just works these guys extra hard to beat the Yankees...

Oh well, I'd love to sweep...but I won't hold my breath. (I know, not very optimistic... )

You have fun with the Angels, I'll take my chances against Tampa.

no problem as long we are home where we have the BEST record in baseball and your playing the d rays , the team that has kicked your ass all season, i think il take my chances

Sweet Lou was great last year down teh stretch. What were we, something like 11 - 0 after starting 4 - 4 against them? Then they go ahead and beat Pedro and the Sox in a couple of important September games down the stretch. :)

Let's pretend the DRays are just as good as the A's. I still say we take 2 of three at least due to playing at home.

The Yankees and the Red Sox have about the same number of home games left, the Yankees are something like 45 - 25 at home, not too bad when you consider that horrible April and the inconsistency up till mid June.

Would you rather have a few yankee fans to add to the discussion or just have Red Sox fans and agree on everything?

simple the yanks sucks against the d rays this year

your pretty confident for a team that has kicked your ass all season

*sigh*....

this team played the Devil Rays like a GCL team. If they realy want to get in the playoffs, they will treat every game like a must win game and if they do that, they should beat the DRays.....I mean, come on, they do have Randy and Wright going for them, they cant do worse than 2 of 3.
