They are playing 30 games straight! Is it more important to be sure to have every guy playing on a team with a ton of bats or rest some guys to be sure they are healthy enough for the stretch run? TEK being out of the line-up isn't all that bad seeing that we have so many bats. Even with TEK getting to sit out every 5th day with Wake pitching he is still above avg for at bats vs. other catchers in the league.

Mosox, they are people not robots. Get over it.

I'm just raising a point here. So Tek needs a day off. What's Millar's excuse? Here's an idea: Clinch this thing before the last series against the MFY and then rest starters. It would be nice to see Tito field a playoff lineup without feeling like he has to give someone the day off.

Case in point: Albert Pujols has had 1 day off this season. He gets my vote for Most Valuable Robot.

lets see I think Olerud has better career numbers against Lopez than Millar does. Its nothing but good managing.

John Olerud, 9 for 21 (.429 avg) 3 Doubles, HR, 2 RBIs, K

Kevin Millar, 5 for 28 (.179 avg) 4 Doubles, RBI, 6 Ks, SB

Read all the posts and you will have a good idea why Olerud is in the lineup. From riverside's post on the 1st page (career #'s against Lopez):

That's a good point, except when a guy is going good at the plate, that doesn't mean much. When a guy is going well at the plate, the last thing he needs is to stop playing. The more I get into this I realize it's probably better to move to the Francona thread. Here's hoping one day this month we see the playoff lineup.

Yeah, but in Olerud's last game before today he homered twice. They are both hot. His 3-run shot today proves it.

oh no!! one game is going to f*** up millar's power, dude give it a break. tito will give them an equal share of time with them both being hot. Besides all that, shouldnt they just send down Petagine to Pawtucket? the guy isnt needed anymore

I agree that Petagine will not see anymore playing time. It will be intersting to see how Tito handles Millar and Olerud now.

Pawtuckett has only a couple of games left on their schedule, and Petagine has stayed up since they called him up because he is out of options (meaning they can't send him down with risking losing him).
