Why is everyone always on Millar's case and not on Cora's? This guy is terrible at the plate and is just ok in the field. Millar is a much better player than Cora and is more valuable in the clubhouse. :dunno:

cora is very good in the field. what are you talking about. cora also has a 7 game hit streak, learn something about baseball before you post.

also, cora is a back up, millar is supposedly supposed to be a starter.

ROFL. Dude, Cora is a backup, and VERY good defensivly. Millar is a starter.

BTW, Cora is hitting around.280 for the sox with 2 home runs while millar hits .270 with 5 home runs in alot more playing time.

damn you deserve some hot rants right here. (1) Cora is a backup, as was Pokey Reese last season who had just hit .221 (2) Cora has played solid D for the Sox and has been featured 3 times on the espn's web gem plays of the night (3) and this crap about the offense?? his past 8 games he has been hitting at a .321 clip and barely strikes out. He has also hit 2 homeruns since joining the Sox, one more than millar

I really just don't like the guy and am biased.

yeah haha ok that is a good reason you give that "he does bad at the plate and in the field"

Millar in August in 23 games with an .299 obp/.316 alug

19 hits in 79 at bats (.241 avg) 3 Doubles, HR, 4 RBIs, 13 Runs scored, 7 Walks, 12 Ks

-----------------------

Cora in August in 12 games with an .371 obp/.438 slug

10 hits in 32 at bats (.313 avg) Double, HR, 7 RBIs, 7 Runs scored, 2 Walks, 6 Ks, SB

Real simple. Cora is a back-up player. Millar, is supposed to be a power hitting 1st baseman/ outfielder. He ( Millar ) has not produced. Cora, on the hand , has in the role that was expected of him.

WHAT. Cora is a hell of alot better than Millar Cora doesn't make half the errors that Millar does and last time I checked he was on a hit streak.

While plenty has been already said re: Cora's contribution to the team as it relates to his role on the team, If it wasn't a question over money he might still be a dodger. Him and Izturis last year defensively as a combo were #1 if not close to it in the NL. In the end, dodgers picked to keep Izturis because he had a better bat...supposedly...

Millar hit 2 homers last night. Who wants to keep bashing?

ooh ooh, pick me, pick me (hand raised).

Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but there's a HUGE difference between these two players. First of all, fatass Millar.

DESPITE his 2 homers last night he still has only 7 for the season. And his two homers don't change the fact that he can't hit away from Fenway, or that he can't hit lefties... (you've heard this all before I'm sure).

Second, Millar plays first base, the easiest position in baseball-- badly. He plays the outfield very badly.

Cora plays shortstop and second base (two very difficult positions) well, and is a servicable third baseman.

Since the All Star Break, when Kevin Millar's been "hot", he's hit .290 .385 .420. Alex Cora? 295 .333 .410

Millar had 3 homers and 13 RBIs in 131 ABs

Cora had 2 homers and 10 RBIs in 61 ABs

So he's got a higher average, and a slightly lower OBP and SLG in the second half, while playing 3 different positions and dealing with rustiness from not playing every day, while Millar can't be bothered to play good defense or run fast.
