With the posts that the yankees are mediocre because they have 200 million dollar payroll and are fighting for their playoff lives. What they have done this season is amazing considering what happend to their beginning of the season starting rotation.

 

Randy Johnson- Has performed like a #3 starter at best

 

Mussina- Inconsistent

 

Carl Pavano- Injured, sucked most of the time anyway

 

Jaret Wright- Injured for most of the season

 

Kevin Brown- Injured, was never really effective

 

Wang- not part of the opening day rotation, but he's been injured for a month now too

 

Now tell me some other teams with that kind of luck would be in the same position as the yankees are in right now. There are few if any.

 

And yes, I do have the most amusing name on the board.

Enough, huh? Face it, regardless of injury problems, if this team doesn't make the playoffs, then people will be talking about it for a long time since they are the first $200+Million team.

 

The Red Sox have had to deal with injuries (Foulke, Schilling, Wells, etc.) and ineffectivness (Embree) in the pitching staff this season too. Plus we've had to deal with some position injuries as well.

 

And, as far as your name goes, that will stop being funny once you get done with the 6th grade. Grow up.

With the exception of a few, most of the a holes come here solely to piss us off. Usually, after those rare occasions when the Yanks win and we lose. They won't be back if Papelbon or anyone else shut's them down. If we can't ban them, then just ignore them. Unless and until they can intelligently discuss baseball within the context of this site.

Seriously, how many games have we lost because we didnt have a hammer in the pen to close it out? I'm sorry yank fans, but if you lost rivera for 2/3rds of the season, you'd be fighting toronto and baltimore for 3rd place at best, and nowhere near contention for wild card this year.
