best pitching: oddly enough it goes to mike remlinger who was only pitcher of the night to not allow any runs, 1 hit being the triple--but still id like to see him get DFA'd

dishonorable mention: hope just a fluke has he had ony lasted 5 innings, 9 hits, 6 runs, 1 walk, but did have 5 Ks--Papelbon working two innings with 2 hits allowed tho one of those hits was on a solo shot

 

best offense: alex cora with 2 RBIs

dishonorable mention: the team's offense again not being able to move runners along and only beginning to rally when there was also two outs, also left bases loaded for the 4th consecutive time in 2 games

 

best defense: Damon gunning down a man on 3rd base, cora's D at 2nd base

dishonorable mention: having millar in left field, royals knowing right away he wont have an accurate and quick throw to home plate

I really didn't understand why Tito made 'Belli the PH instead of Graff, who had to take over 2B anyway because 'Belli can't play 2B. Hell, why did he take Cora out? He was the best offensive producer last night. Whatever, home sweet home.

The prevelent thought was 2 reasons : Doug was hitting like 400 against the pitcher and chance for the long ball ( least that's what was stated on NESN ).

i just go by what has been done this year. Doug with runners in scoring position has been batting just 200. Tony G on the other hand in that situation, a .351 avg--that speaks volume
