Edgar Renteria is batting .357 this month and has been on a tear. Papelbon has given up 4ERs in his first 16 innings as a starter. John Olerud made a big impact when returning from the DL. Big Papi, Manny, and V-tek are doing what they do best. But has anyone come up bigger than Jeremi Gonzalez this month. In his last 12 innings he has given up 3 hits and 1 walk. I think the Red Sox found a keeper. My favorite thing about the guy is he doesn't walk people. Nothing drives me more crazy than bringing in a reliever and he starts throwing balls, getting behind, giving players a free pass. Any other fans??

He's got one here. The guys been doing the job. he also gave us a couple of decent spot starts.

I hated him at first. Im not sure about putting him in close games but I have been pleased with how hes picthed lately. Hes quietly become a solid long inning man.

been fan of his when he first came on board as a temp starter even if couple were shaky. 12 2/3 straight scoreless innings with just 3 hits, he is the bullpen's unsung hero. and if keep peforming like this through the stretch of September, he is more than deserving to be put on the playoffs roster

He's so underrated. He comes in and shuts up the offence when the starter is struggling.

He is underrated. His ERA is a bit high but i guess its cause of some shaky innings, but other then that he's been very good. He's a keeper

they used in some mop up stuff and that hurt his ERA I like the guy and he is a key guy for us..

 

he ceratinly has been a bright spot in the othereise shaky world of our bullpen..He had some keyt starts there when some guys were injured and in long relief he has been great.

gonzalez is underrated and for renteria, he has been playing great.

 

he is batting .357 with 10 doubles, 19 runs scored, and 16 RBI this month.

I'm a fan. This guy's doing for this team what they hoped Halama would do: EAT INNINGS. Except he's doing a lot more than that of late.

 

I've liked this guy since his first start. He doesn't have the most talent in the world, but he's a battler. He had 2 bad outings in August but since then has not been scored upon in 6 outing and 12+ innings.

 

He doesn't dominate guys (4.69 K's/9), but doesn't kill himself with walks (2:1 K:BB ratio), but he's 1-0 with a 3.97 ERA after the All Star Break.

 

He's been one of the team's best relievers in the second half.

dude check your stats because you are no wheres correct. in August in 14 innings he has given up 12 hits, 7 runs, 3 walks, 6 Ks for a 4.50 ERA----We are talking about what he has done in 12 straight innings of relief, just relinquishing 3 hits and no runs

In the thread where it said we signed him and wooten I said he was my boy. He is my favorite player. I always liked him because in mlb 2004 he was always a potential cy youg canadate. Then I saw him pitch and thats when he became my favorite player.

Wow thats a surprise. It's note like he's old either. I just think no once has given him a real chance, or he hasnt pitched for a team where he feels as comfortable as he does here maybe. Weird

Yes he was indeed about to retire, because he has a difficult mlb carrer full of

 

Injuries, comebacks and some games with +6 consecutive reflected on a high ERA.

 

But in 11 2/3 inning (right?) he's been sharp, wich couldn't be any better for the team

 

Me (a venezuelan sox fan) and him, beacause his main cons are: lack of self confidence

 

And lack of aggresiveness on the mound.

 

 

The main point here is that he's in fact a starter, so this would mean a nice backup

 

Along with Papelbon (if he's out) to the rotation. They both have impressed fans

 

Around here !! (BTW , Caracas is mostly an anti-yank city .. so goo sox ! ) and

 

I hope the team's pitching gets just fine (except for Relimger, who I hate)
