Tim Wakefield left tonight's game in the fifth inning after taking a comebacker off his right ankle.

He was able to put weight on it, so it seems likely that he'll be OK

X-rays on Tim Wakefield's ankle were negative. He's day-to-day with a contusion.

 

The Red Sox said it was too early to know if he would make his next start. Monday's an off day, so they can push Wakefield back to next Saturday if necessary.

Alright, so now we know that if it wasn't necessary before it is now. I mean, why should Remlinger be taking up space on our lineup when we could call a guy like Youkilis back up?
