the yankess picked up embre-era, nothing would surprise me any more.

there is blind man's wheel chair league here in sarasota that could use a second baseman I dont think mark can cut it there but they mgiht be interested.

The Yankees were pitching starved and had Wayne Franklin as thier lefty specialist. They picked up Embree for the sake of picking him up. No one under any circumstance would take Bellhorn.

I know. But a starving ethopian wouldnt eat a rotten egg, now would he.

I cant imagine anyone being so pitching hungry that someone like al would look appetizing enough to try.

You guys are so harsh about him. Christ. I admit that he sucks this year but don't beat up on the guy as if he did something wrong for the team. At least be grateful for the good things he did and leave it at that. At least the organization isn't bad mouthing him just 'cause he's on his way outta town and real fans wouldn't either.

I got to the park early once and saw mark arrive on a motorcycle, he appeared to ride it very well.

there..better?

just kidding...he did help lasst year and had a couiple of memorable clutch hits, even I know that.

I'm sure he wil always be remebered (and revered by his loyal fans like soxie)but his abilities just seem diminished and he is now a liability. the inability to solve (or even reduce) the K issue primarily was his kiss of death.

We arent beating up on Bellhorn. Just telling it like it is. Its hard to dress up someone hitting .200 with 300 strikeouts. Dont get me wrong, i appreciate what hes done, and he was clutch, but we cant keep a bad player on a good ballclub just because he had a good year last year. If this were the case we should give Creighton Gubanich or Billy Ashley a call because they hit memorable grand slams.

Also, calling Bellhorn a utility player is false. He is a second baseman, period. He would be a nightmare at SS for any period of time, and didnt play all that well at third when the cubs moved him over there after stuggling at 2B. A utility INF can play three inf. positions adaquetely, usually run a little, and bunt. Bellhorn does none of these.

I'm happy with the play of Graf. I like him at 2nd over Bellhorn anyday. But still Theo has to give Bellhorn the chance to earn back his spot even though we all know he won't be able to earn it back.
