According to ESPN Radio, and Marc Stein, Joe Johnson will sign the Hawks offer sheet, and he has aksed the Suns not to match their offer. :( :o WHAT THE HELL?!?? Is he a f***ing idiot?!? The Suns won 62 games last year! 62! It took the Hawks close to three years to win 62 games. AND he would have gotten 6 years 90 million from the Suns, instead of 5 years 70 million from the Hawks!

His main reason to leave Phoenix is because he doesn't want to be the "fourth wheel" :wtf: ARE YOU SERIOUS JOE??? He had his best season of his career at 17.1 ppg and he was playing with Steve Nash, a GREAT point guard. The Hawks have, Tony Delk... :thumbdown

Have fun Joe winning 25 games and watching the Playoffs on TV, instead of being in them with the Suns.

With the Suns he'll never be able to reach the expectations set by their fans after this season. In ATL there are no expectations so anything he does will make him a star. Good enough reason?

NO! He is already a star in Phoenix. He is a huge and vital part on the Suns team. The fans want a championship. We traded Quentin Richardson, so we could 1) get the necessary parts (big man) to beat the Spurs (not saying Kurt Thomas is an elite big man but hes a banger) and 2) To SIGN JOE JOHNSON! We were so close last year, its very hard to believe that he could overlook that just to be the number one option on a terrible team.

Sorry to tell ya but until Duncan retires you will never beat the Spurs in the playoffs.

Did you forget who our power forward is??? A guy named Amare Stoudemire whos pretty damn good, and who manhandled Duncan, and everyone for that matter (remember the block??? Thats a sign of things to come) no- one can guard him. The reason we lost was because we were (and still are i think) the youngest team in basketball. Besides Nash we had no experience (and Joe's broken face didn't help). I agree Duncan is a great player but think about this...Amare is still learning, this is only his 5th year of playing basketball (and two were in high school). Like Shaq said "I've seen the new face of the NBA. And his name is Amare Stoudemire."

You lost because no one on your team knows how to play defense. If the Suns actually start trying on defnse maybe they'll have a chance. The Mavs have really put together a nice team as well. They have a great offense and actually play defense. I think they may be the best team in the West this year ... in the regular season that is ... of course the Spurs will win the West.

MGB, I've not seen you this riled up.

Anyways, there's some turmoil within the ATL ownership, so the trade is definitely not a done-deal.

Belkin tight-lipped on stalled Suns deal

Btw, I'm a big fan of Timmy, so yeah, don't diss him, which you weren't completely. Duncan's too fundamentally sound to be written off. And Ginobili's one of the most exciting players on the court. The Spurscould upgrade at PG though; Tony Park at times has been, well, let's just say he must be seeing Eva Longoria in his eyes because the way he just loses the ball... ;)

Yeah I knew about that, it will go through. Once the big group of people talk to the "governor" of the Hawks, he will realize how much of a moron he is for not wanting Joe Johnson. I'd love to have him back (and him be WILLING to play here and not be a cancer to the locker-room) but otherwise I guess we will have to look to Michael Finley to be our plan B. Apparantely Steve Nash has made it known that he will push hard after Finley if Joe didn't stay here. (Not bad but hes older than Joe)

OH, and I LOVE the Suns! I've loved them since I was 3 and have a Suns logo painted on my wall. :D So after last year and seeing how close we were, I think I should be riled up.

Well I think Joe Johnson's alright, but I'm not sure if he's a "franchise player" - which isn't really a knock on him, but that it's rare when you do find a player who's so special to build an entire organization around. Hehe, the mask was neat. And he's viewed as a valuable asset to the Suns because he was the only one who could play any sort of defense against the Spurs in the play-offs. Which I'll just say, without D, there's no way any team can make it out of the West, with the Spurs, and even the Mavs trying to play some defense.

If Mark Cuban doesn't mind, I guess you guys can have Finley. ;)

Is every Atlanta Hawk, a 6-8 foward?

I don't know that much about basketball, but shouldn't the Hawks take the money for Joe Johnson, and go get Eddy Curry instead?

Can't be more baffling than the Knicks roster...

Didn't Curry have that irregular heartbeat problem? I hope it got checked out, but I'm not sure on his status. I don't think Chicago will let him go if they can resign him; they have an excellent core of players to work with.
