You've gotta b f***ing kidding me. He isn't going anywhere, but still I want him to stay.

Manny is fun to watch and sure too play with. He makes the red sox funny. I really wouldn't want him tto leave. I read in the nypost that the mets really want him. Maybe we can ship him off there but i doubt they can handle his and beltrans salary.

i dont really believe this cuz if anyone has watched the games on nesn, you will hear jerry remy talking about his recent conversation with Manny who has a new sarcastic funny comment for him each day like, "I think Ill be sent down to the minors" "or I heard Im being traded to the yankees" I think that this SI writer tooking things out of context and changed an artcled about Manny to "Manny wants to be Traded!"

Who cares? That's really the attitude I take with Manny. Concern yourself with what he does off the field and the more you conern yourself with what he does on it. So he walks into the wall during pitching changes. I tend to go grab a beer myself. The front office and fans should just ignore this like everything else.

MANNY'S MOOD SWINGS

Manny Ramirez wants out of Boston. Again. The Red Sox leftfielder has asked to be traded for at least the third time in the past four seasons. He told team officials he is unhappy in Boston, particularly with his lack of privacy off the field. The Red Sox have no intention of trading Ramirez (.277, 27 homers, 90 RBIs) -- not during the season, anyway. They could field offers in the off-season for Ramirez, who is due $57 million over the next three years.

Boston has learned to live with Ramirez's moods in order to keep his bat. He asked to be traded in spring training 2002, and again after the '03 season. However, when Boston agreed in principle to trade Ramirez to Texas as part of the ill-fated Alex Rodriguez deal, Ramirez telephoned owner John Henry late one night pleading to stay.

Yeah, ya know, if Manny wants to get privacy, I would NOT recommend going to New York. How about Manny finish up his contract and then go spend his last few years in Texas or Tampa or Toronto, and just have a quiet final few years.

I hate to hear these guys talk about their need for privacy all the time. I'm sure that's what they want more than anything, but I know very little about Manny's private life. He's not A-Rod or Bonds or Ichiro or one of the ridiculously popular players. He's very popular but, much like Pedro, he has been pretty good about keeping his private life private. In fact, I think a lot of the Sox do a good job of that. Pedro, for instance, was an extremely private person.

Finally, Theo isn't going to give up Manny for something really good. BIGPAPI349's list approximates the kind of package I would ask for Manny; but that package is completely unrealistic. ANY package of that caliber is unrealistic because it is also unrealistic to imagine any team giving up someone as good as Manny. Its not quite to the same degree, but it would be like giving up Bonds or Pujols. Manny is 100 RBI 30HR without even batting an eye--even in a bad season. You can't pay enough for that kind of player.

I can't imagine this coming to fruition. Like the article says, this is the 3rd time in 4 years that Manny has asked to be traded and he still seems happy on the field. it might just always be a thing for Manny.

Not to mention the guy's bitching about privacy, and thenlets the Boston Globe go in and photograph his kids room, I mean my god man, make up your mind.

yea but hes from NY, i think he would be fine with the Mets...especially since they are so lationo-oriented, seems like Omar is trying to build a Latin American All Star Team for the future (with the exception of Wright, who will obviously be here forever).

Do you not understand that he wants to leave Boston because he wants more privacy? Why the hell would he go anywhere in NY?!

I would trade Manny to the Mets.....as much as I love Manny his contract kills the Red Sox with so many deals. I heard a rumor they Sox would have added Adrian Beltre and JD Drew last offseason if they could have moved Manny. He would hurt our run production....but would give the Sox a lot more room to make moves and add more players that can help.

The only deal to the Mets I would really want would involve David Wright. The guy is a star in the making and a great leader for such a young age. I would love to have Beltran too...hes numbers are down and he cant hit like Manny...but he plays amazing defense and since recovering from his leg injury....is really starting to pick up some speed.

I would trade Manny stright up for Wright, with out taking on any of his contract, but the Mets won'ttrade Wright straight up for any one, that kids a stud.

Has it not been mentioned yet on here that Manny asked to sit out today's game? The guy is pathetic. He wanted to sit against Chicago also, but Francona said this would be better to sit against Tampa.

very interesting, Terry had said his decision was partially because Manny basically strolling to first base in the 9th inning and just beating it to 1st base when Tampa failed to record an out on the double play--He had asked Manny if he could play todays game, but Manny had said he really need the day off----Id hate to just start seein him as a jerk but that is how its turning to be

Just heard on WEEI that Terry went back to Manny today and asked him to start since the Sox were losing Trot to the DL today and he still said no.

Patience with Manny Ramirez has got to run out at some point. He's like a 2 year old.

Life on Planet ManRam surely has to be interesting, and most of the time for me it's very entertaining. That being said, why in the f*** do you need a day off from lolly-gagging around the outfield and strolling down the basepaths? I've never seen the guy break a sweat. Take the good with the bad I guess?

More privacy? How about we trade him to Montreal? They never cared about baseball anyways and now that they don't have a team any more he won't even have to bother about playing. He can just hang out with the French Canadians in speedos at Old Orchard Beach.

I wish he would finally understand that he sacrificed a good deal of his privacy when he signed a $20 million per year contract.

haha nice Bull Durham mix, I love it

Perhaps the more apt quote to tell Manny is "Don't think. It can only hurt the team"
