I know we had a big series out on the southside of Chicago this weekend, but down I-95 to St. Louis there was a FANTASTIC series going on. I don't know how many of you took the time to watch it, but yesterday's game was on FOX and tonight's was on ESPN, so hopefully you got the chance.

If you didn't catch it, though, or you just want to look back on it, I wrote a fairly big day-by-day recap about the 'Yankees v. Red Sox' of the midwest:

Heh, I watched tonight. Of all people, Neifi Perez coming through in the clutch?!?! That was amazing. Even though the Cards nearly got out of that 10th inning. I thought the Cards had it won in the bottom of the ninth with Pujols up and a RISP. But hey, surprise surprise!

Game meant much more to the Cubs though; the Cardinals are running away with their divisions like the Chi Sox are. And other than some health concerns (Rolen, Sanders, Walker), they're going to keep chugging along - no holes! :o

I root for David Eckstein; everyone thought the Cards were downgraded at SS, but the guy tries his hardest and I for one appreciate that. :) He had two gaming-winning, squeeze-bunts this month; crazy!

what a surprising ending to last night's late inning game, it had gone into the 10th inning with two out and neifi perez up to the bases loaded and he had hit a walkoff grand slam, I wasnt expecting that from him. but still happy because thats my favorite team of the NL along with the Astros to make it to the World Series

STL and the ChiSox have already ran away with their divisions. It's over there, they're both in the playoffs already.

I love Ecks just because I'm a little guy and I know what it's like to have to work twice as hard as everyone else to be out on the field. He's a fun guy to watch, and has more energy than anyone in the league.

I like him but he's unbelieveably over-rated. No way he's an All Star, no way.

*yawns* Wha...ASG "matters"? :o

I didn't say he's the most talented, simply said he had one of the biggest hearts, and not egotistical at all - nothing wrong with rooting for the underdog. :)
