yea sure thing you guys will love this matchup as more or less the Red Sox should have in the clubhouse, a certificate of ownership of Jose Conteras. Lifetime in just six games he has a 1-4 record, with really jaw-dropping ERA of 13.50, in the span of just total 21 innings pitched giving up 7 Homeruns! Side note is yesterday's nesn pre-game report that it could be today again with alex cora taking 2nd base, while having Tony G give Bill Mueller the day off at 3rd base, though Bill does have great numbers against Conteras.

Jose Contreras vs:

Alex Cora, 1 for 5 (.200 avg)

Johnny Damon, 4 for 11 (.364 avg) HR, 3 RBIs, 4 Walks, 6 Ks, SB

Tony G, 1 for 4 (.250 avg) HR, RBI, K

Kevin Millar, 4 for 8 (.500 avg) Double, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 3 Walks, 3 Ks

Doug Mirabelli, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) RBI, 3 Ks (will serve on the bench today)

Bill Mueller, 5 for 11 (.455 avg) Double, HR, 5 RBIs, 2 Walks, K

Trot Nixon, 1 for 1 (1.000 avg) RBI, Walk

David Ortiz, 2 for 11 (.182 avg) Double, 3 RBIs, 2 Walks, 2 Ks

Manny Ramirez, 3 for 10 (.300 avg) Double, HR, 3 RBIs, Walk, 3 Ks

Jason Varitek, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) Walk, 2 Ks, 0 for 1 SBs

and in what could be Bronson's last start as a Red Sox pitcher, his stats in 3 games opposing the white sox is a 1-1 record with a 5.74 ERA. As it was last night, today wont be any different as Bronson is lethal against baserunners. And only one has tried to steal against him all season, that one being picked off. His stats against white sox is more dominating than contreras is by far with only one batter hitting above .300 against bronson, but ya know ozzie will try to throw some hit and runs, squeez plays, etc.

Bronson Arroyo vs:

Joe Crede, 0 for 3, Walk, K

Jermaine Dye, 0 for 1, Walk, K

Carl Everett, 1 for 7 (.143 avg)

Willie Harris, 2 for 7 (.286 avg) 2 Ks

Paul Konerko, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) HR, 3 RBIs, Walk

Timo Perez, 3 for 7 (.429 avg) Double

AJ Pierzynski, 0 for 3

Aaron Rowand, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) K

Juan Uribe, 1 for 4 (.250 avg) Double, RBI, K

where you get this stats???

Posted
yahoo sports mlb, it has stats on every single active player in the MLB. just go to the pitcher's profiles and click on batter vs. pitcher link, then it will show 2005 season stats with link above that says since 1987. I check like that each game, its very knowledgable. Even with situational stats of batters of how they do with whatever strike/ball count they are on, risp, etc

hope we can get burnett. the only yankee that has had sucess against him in the past is tony womack

Hold your horses, kiddo. Jeter, Matsui, Giambi, A-Rod, Bernie, etc... are all AL hitters. Don't count on anything, especially since Burnett hasn't truly seen the light of the AL East.

really, they are all AL hitters??! I had no idea  haha, really anyway, who knows AJ would end up owning the yankees, doing so/so, or outright bad--lets just see first who gets him if he is dealt during the trade deadline

Clement has appeared in 2 games opposing Tampa Bay, thus far having a 2-0 record with just a 1.29 ERA. Red Sox will be facing for a 3rd consecutive game a starting pitcher who they have had success against, hoping for more runs to be scored and little ammount of men left on base. Last week Mark Hendrickson, the starting pitcher, didnt even record an out with throwing pitchers to the first 6 batters who all got on base and all eventually had scored. His career againt Boston in 11 games is a 1-6 record and a high 8.23 ERA. Opponest are batting against him .391 for the month of July

update for today's game at 415pm. Sox will look to Wakefield to gather together to try and get 2 out of 3 from Tampa Bay and go back home on a whirlwind roadtrip in Chicago and in St Petersberg. No doubt Trot and especially Matt will be on the Sox organization and red sox nations fans across the world as the updates continue. Like David Wells, Tim Wakefield has had great success against Tampa in 26 games, he has an 11-1 record facing them with a niice 2.85 ERA. Lou Piniella counters with another reliever turned starter, Seth McClung with an already high 7.07 ERA for 2005. And has pitched only very sparingly against the sox, in relief for 6.1 innings with a 5.68 ERA, including 2 Homeruns during that span.

Seth McClung vs:

Johnny Damon, Walk

Edgar Renterria, 2 Walks

David Ortiz, 0 for 1, K

Manny Ramirez, 2 Walks

Kevin Millar, 0 for 4, 2 Ks

Doug Mirabelli, 1 for 1 (1.000 avg), HR, RBI

Bill Mueller, 0 for 1

Tony Graffanino, 0 for 1

Jason Varitek, 0 for 3, Walk, K

Tim Wakefield vs:

Jorge Cantu, 2 for 5 (.400) 2 Walks

Kevin Cash, 0 for 6, 2 Ks

Carl Crawford, 15 for 39 (.385 avg) 4 Doubles, Triple, 4 RBIs, 3 Ks, 6 SBs

Jonny Gomes, 0 for 1, Walk

Alex Gonzalez, 9 for 41 (.221 avg) HR, 4 RBIs, 3 Walks, 12 Ks, 3 for 5 SBs

Hey guys thought Id do this matchup now, gettin ready to head out the door to see paplebon's debut at Fenway Park, cant wait and Ill have my camera read for sure, sittin close to the bulpens. Today of course is the anticipated debut of Jon Paplebon who pretty much had dominated the AA league and in 4 starts with Pawtucket, he had a 1-2 record with a 3.57 ERA. The Sox will try to give the rookie run support as they face off against the Twins' Brad Radke who this season has a 6-10 record with a 3.88 ERA, doesnt walk that many only 12 this season thus far. He is 8-6 against Boston in his career, a 5.15 ERA. Unfortunately Manny wont be in todays lineup, which is really too bad since has a .369 batting average, and has belted actually 6 homers off of Radke.

Brad Radke vs:

Johnny Damon, 12 for 47 (.255 avg) 2 Triples, 3 Walks, 6 Ks, 1 for 3 SBs

Edgar Renterria, 0 for 3, 2 Ks

David Ortiz, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) HR, RBI, Walk, K

Manny Ramirez, 24 for 65 (.369 avg) 6 Doubles, Triple, 6 HRs, 20 RBIs, Walk, 15 Ks

John Olerud, 16 for 39 (.410 avg) 3 Doubles, 6 RBIs, 3 Walks, K

Kevin Millar, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) K

Jason Varitek, 4 for 15 (.269 avg) HR, RBI, 2 Walks, K

Gabe Kapler, 2 for 10 (.200 avg) Walk, SB

Bill Mueller, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) HR, RBI, K

Tony G- 3 for 20 (.150 avg) Double, 5 Ks

Alex Cora, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) Double, K

Radke walks less than 1 per 9 innings. His K/BB ratio is around 7. So, he puts a lot of pitches in the strikezone. Good considering they walked Papi 4 times last night. Our boys need to be putting lumber on the ball today because free passes are unlikely.
