I think MC Hammer is right. Mueller made it so that if they tried to get Varitek at the plate, he'd be in scoring position. When it was cut off, he checked to see if Tek scored before he let himself be tagged.

Tek was in, hence the cutoff. Mistake by Mueller, but an aggressive mistake when you have the lead is acceptable.

Schilling hits 94 with his heat and looks like he can push off the rubber again. We struggle with the bat early, but get something going in the later innings. Very good win eventhough it was only over the Drays. It was good because Bronson had a solid outting, Manny actually went yard off a lefty, Curt looked good, and most importantly Bellhorn wasn't in the lineup.

Thought occurred to me as well. Mussina and Park in a pitchers duel in Tx, 0-0. Though Mussina may be replaced to start the 7th. Rodriguez is warming in the bullpen.

LMAO! The pitch by pitch window in MLB.com ALREADY had "Boston 51-42"...as soon as the bottom of the eighth ended. Seems even MLB has no confidence in Tampa Bay's rallying abilities.

 

 

They know what kind of closer Curt has become. :D

Hendrickson tomorrow and then Buehrle on Thursday makes 6 straight games against southpaws. Maybe a steady diet of lefties can help the team get out of the funk they've had against 'em.

Or put them into a deeper funk. Maybe Manny broke out of his tonight though. We'll see how things go. I feel very good after Curt's performance tonight. He's improved every time out, and a consistant closer right now will help if our offense is going to be inconsistant.
