How are we suppose to expect the Sox to be a legit contender this season when they are 2-7 against a below average team such as the Blue Jays? Are they still in 1rst place? Sure. However only because of the attrocious play from the Yankees and Orioles. As of late the Orioles are having a harder time scoring than a nun in a convent!

The Red Sox MUST come out and soundly defeat Toronto in these next two games if they want to continue to have the fan's interests. The bullpen has been sickening to watch this year and Francona continues to pull off his best impression of Mayor Thomas Menino for acting like a bumblin, stumbling, stuttering fool.. Why Francona insists on playing Millar over Olerud is puzzling. Terry seems to think this is little league. Terry is friendly with Millar so therefore he starts Millar over a player like John Olerud who is far better both offensively and defensively.

When will Tito learn that Trot Nixon needs to be an every day player?? Enough of this Nixon can't hit lefties crap. Nixon is batting 300 against lefties this year. As a matter of fact Nixon is batting better against lefties this year than Millar!!! Nixon is a heart and soul type of player and his presence not being in the lineup from day to day hurts morale and play.

I, too, would like to see Olerud and Nixon play more regularly. My only hope is that the front office is trying to let Payton play (and hopefully perform) to give him a little lustre in the trade market because we can afford to give up some pop for the ability to hold the lead.

thats very intriguing to think about it. be a very cool gameplan of theos, if it were the truth. im not that at all downed by seein payton play, he had a great month in june as backup to trot batting .333. sox needs are bullpen to be cleaned out, keeping just original sox players myers and timlin, a new backup to second/shortstop--and im not sure what to think about wade miller so far, only 2 games this season he has been able to last 7 innings, by the 6th he will already be around the 100 pitch mark.

im not blaming it all on clement, not at all---tito kept clement in one batter too long, clement got the bases load and was already up to 115 pitches and terry thought matt was the one to end the inning. next batter he faces got a base hit and scored in a run to make it 5 - 1, the game fell into the sox's bullpen and they just crumbled at toronto's feet giving up 10 more runs. even though it says clement is charged for 8 runs. he left with the bases loaded and reliable mike myers just gave up the grand slam

Francona is the player's manager. He likes to please his players because he is a survivalist!

A- Millar complained about not getting enough playing time ------Mientkiewicz started playing late innings only!

B- Payton complained about not getting enough playing time ------Nixon now plays occasionally, and does not face left handed pitchers.

Tito needs to learn that he does not have to please everyone to survive!!!

He needs to put the interest of the team above the desires of “loud speaking” individual players.
