I didn't hear it and I wouldn't believe it if it's true. Guys say things all the time. He's like 6 years away from his contract being up. Who knows what he'll be thinking then? Suppose he has 600+ homers. There's no way he's retiring.

I don't know. It's awfully tough. I would have had money on Griffey doing it 5 years ago. If he stays as healthy as he has been (or as healthy as Bonds was in his 30s) then definitely he could.

 

BTW, it figures that number 400 was a junk-time HR.

I'm sorry! I just hate every topic being turned into a yankee sucks thread. This thread should be about the player and his accomplishment rather than ripping the team he plays for. Do doubt! Alex is like the best hitter going. 1 year as a Yankee and he better then Jeter. I see no problem with him reaching that goal, and bypassing it.
