Red Sox @ Yankees Series 5/27-2/29

Manny and Ortiz will start producing. Papi's batting average is slowly climbing and hopefully Manny's starts to as well. As far as Clement goes, I still think he's a better pitcher than Pavano and we play $2M less for him. Let's give Matt Clement some credit instead of going the road saying that he isn't this good and he's due to start losing.

Today seems to be a breakout day for our team. Manny and Tek are both 2-2 and we already have 8 hits.

I hope to God it's a breakout day for our offense. Our pitching can get the job done, no doubt, but our offense could help us a bit more. Hopefully we break out. I can't stand continuing the slump and more sleepless and disappointing nights.

Anyone think wells has a chance tomorrow? Yankees must be pretty pissed off about getting beaten so badly today and want redemption. Too bad today counts as only 1 win but it was a big win. Does any1 think the table has turned or was this a one off? I guess we will see tomorrow and then vs baltimore and angels....

Sure, Wells has a chance. He always has a chance, he just usually blows it. No matter what they say, a 17-1 route crushes a team's spirit. They'll be hurting more than they will be seeking revenge.

I agree with that. I think Wells has a good shot. His last outing wasn't terrible, except for that one bad inning.

This is an intresting thought and question i suppose. If the yankees were to win sun and take two out of three what does that conclude about this series? Yes the sox destroyed the yanks today but, 1 game is only 1 game. Does today mean the sox wake up from their slump and do what the yanks have done this month in terms of ownage? Tomorrow may be the most important game for both these clubs all season. Sox go on and play the first place orioles and yanks play KC. This is FUN baseball!!!

Monday is literally only Memorial Day. The important games really come after the All Star break. A Sox win will be nice though.

It doesn't matter if we lose, since the combined scores would come out to a sox victory anyway. Ok, faulty logic, but fun to think about.

It is important. This is already our 9th game against the Yanks this season. We only have 10 more left. When you think about it, it's only the second month of the season and we are nearly half done with our games against teh Yanks. EVERY game against the Yankees is important, because these games stand out above all others. I want the Sox to win today, just as I do everyday. I never second guess whether it matters or not to win. Every game in the season is important. When it comes down to the end of the season and a stupid loss earlier in the season that you shoulda won bites you in the ass, then you realize that even those games are important. They do add up, after all.

you're right. I also think every game is necessary to win. especially now I think it's crucial we need to find our way back up to the top.

I agree. I'm a little disappointed though in the fact that we could have easily swept the series if it wasn't for "Send-em in" Sveum... oh well, I think we demoralized them enough tonight.

I give it only an 'A' because we had game one and blew it. Game two and three really showed the heart this team has, though. Way to go Sox!

Ugh the only thing I'm dissapointed with is it should have been win-win-win but thats ok because Wells looked good.
