I was ready to start this thread...I'm fuming right now and trying to cool myself down....

I NEVER have confidence in our chances when he's on the mound. I'm so sick of this s*** and he needs to be gone. Of course, why the hell was he left in when there was a righty at bat??? Mantei was getting ready...whether or not Tito likes it, he has to be ready to yank Embree.

I truthfully had a bad feeling about this game when Embree came in.

I'm not. The blame goes all over for this loss. Timlin, Wells??? I knew it was going to happen, but Embree was used looking to extend the game, no win it. The loss goes back to Wells if you ask me (we score 6 runs).

Tough thing to do, but I'm gonna argue Embree's case here.

Last 10 games:

DATE	OPP	W	L	ERA	SV	IP	H	ER	BB	SO
APR 22	@TB	0	1	5.19	0	0.0	1	1	0	0
APR 25	BAL	0	0	4.50	0	1.1	0	0	1	4
APR 26	BAL	0	0	4.35	0	0.1	1	0	0	0
MAY 01	@TEX	0	0	3.86	0	1.1	0	0	0	0
MAY 02	@DET	0	0	5.84	0	0.2	4	3	0	0
MAY 06	SEA	0	0	5.40	0	1.0	0	0	0	1
MAY 08	SEA	0	0	4.70	0	2.0	1	0	1	1
MAY 10	OAK	0	0	4.32	0	1.1	0	0	0	0
MAY 15	@SEA	0	0	4.08	0	1.0	1	0	1	1
MAY 17	@OAK	1	0	3.72	0	1.2	0	0	0	1

1. He hasn't pitched since the 17th.

2. Prior to today he hadn't given up an ER since may 2nd

3. Lefties are hitting .182 off of him

4. We don't have many other quality relievers

Its easy to get pissed off at people after a loss like today's, but what else can we do but continue to go with Embree? Timlin failed us as well you know, not to mention Wells.

weird. I come into my room and look at the tv. Tie game, bottom of the ninth and i see Embree. I leave the rooom thinking "I don't want to see a walkoff". What else but a f***ing walkoff. If a guy is predictable like this, in a bad way, something needs to be done

i know there is little faith in foulke right now but there embree shouldnt have been left in there - you have to bring in either mantei or foulke in that situation. he obviously wasnt getting it done and Tito just basically gave the other team the game by leaving him in to face a righty. Awful management of the bullpen but Wells didnt make it any easier by sucking once again. I really hope we get Schilling back and can get Wells out of the rotation. (Though I know thats only wishful thinking)

Yeah, I would have liked to see Mantei in that situation.

All the blame can't go to Timlin, as seen in yeszir's post...he's done his job. It's just frustrating that we continued to blow leads, pitching in general is to blame today.

isnt it the manager who decides to leave someone in? the guy comes up a rightie? al on the hill....wouldnt it have made sense to bring mantei??? seems like a no brainer to me..

I cant understand this room. I insult embree and the whole world attacks...after last night you guys turn on him...

f***..mueller gets hot and then hit in the foot, hope he isnt badly injured?

dont mess with alan he is my favorite pitcher.

I'm not going to blame Wells. He had one bad inning and kept the sox in the game. Not bad for a #5 starter in my opinion. It was only a matter of time until Timlin gave up something, you can't go a season without giving up any runs. Embree is seriously just a waste, for the last several years I have watched him and always have to hold my breath. When all you have is a 95 mph fastball you are going to continue to get hit in the big league. This guy will never be a shut down reliever so why the hell dont we get someone else in there.

Wells didn't suck toinght. He was pretty dominant except for that one inning. Coming from Wells, I thought it was actually a good outing for his second start since coming off the DL, ESPECIALLY for someone like Wells.

Embree should not pitch against RHH especially power hitters like Sheffield. It's amazing though, since he can make great lefties look silly like Matsui who was the next batter.

It was stupid Sheff is a right handed dead fastball hitter the exact opposite thing that Embree should be in the coaches (Tito and "Send him in" Sveum") really did terrible last night.
