New Batting Order

Last night Tito switched up the lineup:

 

Damon

Renteria

Ortiz

Manny

Nixon

Millar

VTek

Mueller

Belhorn

 

I like the new lineup because it puts Trot in an RBI spot and he proved last night with the GS that he should be there. Renteria is also riding an 11 game hit streak so why not have him up there with Damon to set the table for the power hitters. The only thing is that it lowers VTek in the lineup by 1 spot and hes been hitting the cover off the ball. Overall though I think it gives us a much more balanced lineup.

L-R-L-R-L-R-S-S-S. Not bad. As long as they're comfortable where they are and Renteria manages to get on base at a good clip, I have no problem with it. Trot's the better on-base threat in the 2-spot, but he's also more adept at driving in runs in the 5-spot.

I like the mixup with the righties-lefties and then switch hitters at the end. Good call.

I'd like to see Millar and Tek switched, there really is no reason for it. If Tek is moved up behind Nixon, it may stop managers from bringing in lefty specialists for the sole purpose of getting Nixon out, since Tek is hitting .500 vs. lefties this season whereas Millar is hitting .200

In all fairness Millar had a bad start, he can hit lefties and its better to have your switch hitters on the bottom. This could actually be a deciving trap.
