you mean the guy who recorded 50+ saves last season? the same guy who's era was under 2? the same guy who's era was under 2 in 2003? the same guy who's consistantly (when healthy) recorded an average of 40 + saves his career (36 saves if you include his first 2 years and injured year)..

 

do you know what people would give up for that kind of pitcher? he's not someone you just trade because of 2 blown saves. even if it was against the sox.

im sure mariano will be fine...he just needs to be more sharp...right now the red sox are looking cutter, and if its not snappy, they will pound it...if he sharpens up his mechanics he'll be very effective again. i wouldn't mind seeing him start throwing changes either..

Well I wouldnt say their are no signs. I mean lets face the facts hes getting old, and he is not as feared as he was. I mean dont get me wrong hell get his 40 somthin saves and have an ERA under 2 but he has lost some of his mystique. No longer are baseball games against the yankees an 8 inning game as tjey used to be.
