I was watching. It was a 3 run shot given up to Dunn that scored the 3 runs against him. His changeup was looking filthy in what I saw. We really REALLY should have kept him, even if he acted like a complete douche bag.

i don't want to hear any of the we should have kept pedro no matter this or that, it's over with, he's gone..

i'm probably one of the biggest pedro supporters/lovers/fans whatever you want to call us. petey is my boy and always will be. the guy is great, but there is no way we could have predicted how well he was going to pitch in 05, let alone in the years to come, especially for the pricetag the mets put on him after outbidding us.

yeah, pedro's showing some awsome stuff, but remember, it's only one game of the 30-35 games he'll pitch all season. it's 12k's now but take out 2 from pitchers. 10k is still impressive for opening day. just like last nights loss to the yankees, yeah, it was bad but it's just one game, there are many more to come.

good luck with the mets pedro.

After all these years of struggling on opening day, that guy finally does good on opening day.

It's because he doesn't have to play the Orioles for once. :o

adam dunn crushed that homer in the ninth. hes gonna put up huge numbers this year.

....huge strikeout numbers.

The ball was hit 425 feet I believe.

A Mets fan perspective:

There's only one word to describe Pedro's performance after the first inning Dunn HR (really just one bad pitch)- dominant. Koufaxian works too.

He had major movement on the fastball, movement I haven't seen from him since 2000. He was hitting 95 when he needed to, and was consistently 93-94 on the gun. The curveball and changeup were outstanding. After the HR to Dunn, he struck out 12 of 15 batters. Domination.

It's too bad that the one 'pen arm that Mets fans could actually count on blew what is already being considered one of the best performances by anyone who donned a Mets uni.

I expect big things from Pedro in 2005.

I've followed Adam Dunn in the past...he always starts off great, then seems to sizzle out as the season goes along.

Going back to Pedro, just so you all know, it's easier to pitch in the NL. Those K's are impressive yes, but substitute the pitcher in for a DH. Taking David Ortiz out of the game and putting in Schill to bat would really be a guaranteed K wouldn't it?
