XM radio just launched their brand new baseball coverage, and its amazing! It has basically every radio broadcast for games, including the spring training games, and it gives you the score right on the car radio screen!

I take back anything bad I ever said about XM. Their classic rock stations may suck, but they have baseball! Now I'll have no excuse not to listen to the sox. :)

but yeah XM kicks ass, way better than sirius......$130

yeszir do you have XM2Go or just the one that plugs into your car?

It's integrated in my car's audio systems. It's an option in all Hondas and Acuras.

Ok, from the guy who's never owned a cell phone and still owns a record player.... XM Radio. You pay for a car and/or a home account?? You can pick up any radio feed in the US?? Are there blackouts??

Here near ATL, I'd be able to get the EEI radio station in my car? $130??? Is that a month/year or lifetime???

Finally, lucky bastard who gets a new Honda with XM Radio BEFORE he goes to college!!! I know people who get that when they graduate, but not for getting in. Congrats. <_>

It's not my car, if that makes it any better? :dunno:

Anyway, yes, XM works everywhere in the country (not in tunnels, parking garages, or next to really tall mountains though), because it is a satellite. I think it would work anywhere in the world actually. You can get a car/home thing that plugs into your car radio but also works as a standalone in your house, so you can take it with you. Mine's integrated, so I can't do that.

As for the radio feeds, XM has about 100 channels of music, 50 of other stuff, and then the sports ones. There's a dedicated baseball talk station and the play by play ones, which just leech the regular radio feeds of respective teams. I'm not sure if they get all of the games or just some though. The $130 is per year, they recently raised the price. I'd advise against XM, personally, unless you REALLY like country (they have, like, 20 stations). I don't think I'll be renewing my subscription.

And when I was in ATL in November, I took a cool tour of the local COX broadcast center with all the TV stations and radio stations. I stood in front of the weather thing with the blue screen. That was damn cool.

Thanks for the info. I'll check into it.

Figures you'd enjoy COX  ;)

Anyway, next time check out the CNN tour if you're down here again. The CNN Espanol anchors are unreal.

The CNN tour was full, why else would I settle on your damn local rap station.

I was in Florida last year and my rental car had XM Radio. I love it. It has ESPNRadio which is awesome. It has every sports talk thing you could need. Plus the song stations are ordered out into the genre of song instead of stations with bad songs mixed in.

I'd have to agree with Yez on this one. I have XM also. It makes normal radio seem ancient.

Except when it comes to classic rock. I guess I just never gave Boston radio stations much credit, but they blow XM out of the water in terms of musical selection, even with its 100+ channels. I see no need for 4 dance and trance channels.
