No intelligent Sox fan thinks RJ sucks. We all know he's one of the most dominant pitchers in the league. The only thing about him (Schilling too, to be fair) is that he's pretty damn old. The Yankees have essentially pissed away their future. I guess they don't really need a farm system, since George can just go out and buy up every free agent every year, but still... Anyway, the point of all that rambling is that we know RJ is good. It's just that no one knows how much longer he's going to be productive at the ripe age of 41.

Why do we suck?

Good question.

1) Because the Yankees (attempt to, anyway :P ) buy championships. Always have, always will. True, with the current system in baseball, it is entirely within their rights to do so. But it's also why the Yankees are the most despised franchise in sports. It's not that they suck in the standings; it's that they suck because they are a monopoly. And that is not good for the sport.

*Mark my words: A salary cap will be in place in the MLB before too long. And it doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, the only reason there will be one is because of the NY Yankees. Yankee fans can thank themselves for this one, and say goodnight to any thoughts of a Dynasty in the future.

2) Yankee fans are the most arrogant fans in baseball. They are fortunate enough to be in the largest media market in the world, enabling the Yankees to outspend any other team in professional sports - yet they cannot be classy or respectful about it. They rub it in. They are not content with just winning; they have to be *******s about it along the way.

In 1999 durning the playoffs with the Yankees, did you see Boston fans littler Fenway with garbage because of all the bad calls by the umpires? No, and there were easily 5 or 6 bad (incorrect) calls that completely changed the series in the Yankees favor. This year, when the umpires actually got the calls correct, Yankee fans threw all kinds of stuff down on Yankee stadium. The fans have no class or respect for the game.

Unlike Boston/Cubs/etc. fans, who stand by their team through the hard times, most Yankee fans would not be Yankee fans if their team didn't win. I see it all the time. They follow the "hot hand" in sports.

3) They way overpay for their players, which of course they can do. But once a player is overpaid by the Yankees, they are saddled with a huge contract that most other teams cannot afford. It's bad business and basically prevents most teams from acquiring such a player until the contract is up.

4) They ass-kiss the players union allowing agents like Scott Boras to shop around average FA talent as "Star" talent. If the Yankees weren't known for monopolizing players with outrageous salaries, teams like Houston would be a shoe in for a player like Beltran. Instead, Boras will dangle the Yankees over Houston until they give up.

Basically, the Yankees are the epitome of everything wrong with Baseball. That's why they suck. :o

If Steinbrenner sold the Yankees, would you want him owning the redsox?

BE HONEST!

No I'm satisfied with the current regime we have in place right now. They've shown that they will go all out to win a championship and they have completed their promises.

yes. i have been one to always say that the yankees have been the past, present (except for this past year!) and will be the future of baseball.

our bias clouds our minds, RJ is a kick ass player. if he had an offense like the yankees who f***ing knows how well he would have done. i guarantee better than 16-14. 30-0? no. but the yankees are the team to beat...still.

i want steinbrenner owning our team, he makes teams compete every year. the only thing about him is that he doesnt build for the future..but hey what can you do.

Say Henry left also.....

Well if we had the John Harrington/Dan Duquette staff still here, of course I would want to see Steinbrenner own the Sox.

no way...the current ownership is just fine...

Objectively, I dont think I could root for a george team, where colorless, drones are thrust together and money is thrown around all over the place.

It is obscene and is bad for baseball-they pay more in luxury taxes than the entire payroll of the Devil Rays! but getting back to some earlier comments, what is really cool is that no matter how much they spend and no matter what carpet bagging android they find, we are the current champions..and red sox rooter you're the man!!!

Oh and I thoguht I'd mention this little stat I found on a very cool site...http://www.yankeessuck.com (clap, clap, clap)...

bring it on....!!!

Pathetic, Its a totally different team since RJ faced the f***ing Red Sox last stupid ass. And i still dont get how Red Sox fans this the whole yankees suck theme was invented there.

We were the fist to chant "BOSTON SUCKS" "BOSTON SUCKS" IN THE LATE 70'S you steel everything, name something that you guys made up.........COWBOY UP? THAT MUST BE THE ABSOLUTE GAYEST SAYING OF ALL TIME. YOU STOLE THAT WHOLE BELEIVE THING FROM f***IN TUG MCGRAW.

YANKES DONT SUCK BTW, THEY ARE BETTER THAN THE RED SOX THIS YEAR, ADMIT IT. STEINBRENNER IS ACTUALLY BRINGING IN PEOPLE THAT WANT TO PLAY FOR THE YANKEES THIS YEAR INSTEAD OF JUST THROWING OUT MONEY. HE WANTS THAT LATE 90'S CHEMESRTY BACK AGAIN. TINO, RJ, PAVANO, WRIGHT, ETC. ALL WANTED TO BECOME A YANKEE. WHY DO YOU THINK GEORGE PASSED ON A BIG NAME 2B LIKE JEFF KENT? BECAUSE HE REALIZED THAT WOMACK WOULD BE BETTER FOR THE TEAM.

thats why steinbrenner is one of the best owners in baseball history. and future HOFer.

We "steel" everything?

Steinbrenner's a douche.

Why would we want Georgie Porgie? We have somebody that can do it without $220 million: Theo Epstein.

You couldn't have been anymore off with those three comments.

First of all, your defense sucks, your middle infield has no range, and Matsui can't field. We've averaged 955 runs the last two years, you guys couldn't even get 900 last year.

Learn to spell, by the way. My guess is that your like 8 years old.

THIS IS A f***ING BASEBALL BOARD!WHO CARES ABOUT SPELLING!

WE HAD THE SECOND BEST DEFENCIVE INFIELD IN BASEBALL NEXT TO THE A'S.

JETER HAD A BETTER RANGE FACTOR THAN CABRERA LAST SEASON ALSO.

IT ISNT THAT SMART TO MAKE COMMENTS ABOUT A BAD DEFENCIVE LEFT FIELDER. MANNY IS TWICE AS BAD. INCREADABLE HITTER, HORRIBLE FIELDER.

IF WE GET BELTRAN....FOGEDABOUTIT, OUR OFFENCE OVERPOWERS YOUR.

PLEASE DONT SAY YOUR PITCHING IS BETTER THAN OURS EITHER.

MIENTKIEWICZ WONT BE YOUR EVERYDAY STARTER, MILLAR WILL, MIENTKIEWICZ WILL RARELY START

BELLHORN ISNT BETTER THAN WOMACK, BASICALLY EQUALL. WOMACK HAD BETTER RF THOUGH.

DAMON MADE 4 MORE ERRORS THAN BERNIE DID IN CF. AND RF ISNT THAT MUCH BETTER, AND DAMON HAS LOWER FP%

WE WILL GET BELTRAN ANYWAY, AND HE IS BETTER THAN DAMON.
