I dont know about the yankees, but up here in the land of last year's World Champions (God that felt good saying that) -opening day is in April...

check back then and we'll see what's what.

its called a three way deal. The White Sox desperetly want Vazquez, The Yankees desperetly want Johnson, And the Diamondbacks deperetly want talent.

Kenerko+prospect to Arizona

Vazguez to Chicago

Johnson to New York

there are so many possibilitieson 3 and 4 way dealy...........anything could happen.

yeah, and then they will trade rj to ny for vazquez, arizona is so gay. they think they are actually contenders next year pshh, my a$$. arizona wont have 75 wins next year.

This thread is pointless because there is no way that the Red Sox and probably the Yankees are done making their rotation. Before Opening Day then we can have this discussion.

Why do you have Halama in there? No way he is going to be a starter. How about:

Schilling

Burnett

Wells

Arroyo

Wakefield

vs.

I'll even give you what you think you will get:

Johnson

Pavano

Mussina

Wright

Brown? since you will deal Vazquez

It will all come down to the playoffs again if both teams have those rotations. But I like Schilling in the big game and Burnett has more talent than Pavano.

WRONG. burnett is untouchable. the marlins gm said so himself. he wants aj to be the ace of there staff.

the yankees pitching staff is superior. your biases are clouding your judgement.

if the yankees get johnson, their pitching staff is EXTREMELY superior to ours.

Yes, if the Randy trade goes through, then for now, the Yankees will have a better rotation. Of course, Brown, Johnson, and Mussina can't have too much left, so soon you'll just be left with Pavano and Wright, the latter of which is questionable in my eyes.

It looks like RJ will be a Yankee. With Javy going to LA, for Shawn Green and Green going to Arizona.

not so fast....dodgers are rethinking this whole trade!

and as far as pitching staffs go lets see what Will Carroll from Baseball Prospectus has to say...shall we?

Red Sox: Curt Schilling, Matt Clement, David Wells, Bronson Arroyo, Tim Wakefield

That looks pretty strong. Clement was a great signing, cheaper and better than Pavano. Assuming they can find a way to get through April without Schilling - there's plenty of candidates like Abe Alvarez, John Halama, or just four-manning until May - this will be nasty. It's also relatively reasonably priced. Still, "pretty strong" doesn't mean it's as good as 2004's rotation. It's not, but then again, does it need to be? WINNER

and the yankmee's... pending johnson trade

Yankees: Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, Carl Pavano, Jaret Wright, Kevin Brown. Pavano and Wright look a lot better at 3 and 4 than they did a week ago. Still overpaid, but what do you expect at this stage from the Yankees? Brown's still likely to be traded, but he's hardly a bad option for a five starter. If Johnson and Schilling match up in Yankee Stadium, we could have another epic like the July classic we got this season. Will Yankee pinstripes make the Unit look bigger than the purple ones he sported the past couple seasons? Yikes. In the end, the rotation with Johnson is only as good as it was supposed to be last season and more expensive. PUSH

I haven't seen anywhere that says that they've handed the papers to Selig yet. In fact on MLB.com it says that the Dodgers are still pondering the trade until they sign a couple guys to fill the gaps that they would have traded.
