You know what you guys need to read is Johnny Damon's book, Idiot. Quality reading, am I right?! And it's not like he's a bad guy or he duped anybody or anything...

 

Seriously, this book was terrible. You want to talk about Prima Donna Media Whore? Johnny Damon is your man. I'll quote a passage:

Haha, they like didn't even proofread it. In ONE paragraph, Jim Edmonds was called "Edmunds" and "Edwards."

Red, I read "Win It For" last month. It is a slow read and takes some time to get through the book. What impresses you about it is the fact that so many die-hard Red Sox fans never got to see their beloved team win the World Series, and their children make this so clear in paragraph after paragraph. For most of those being quoted love for the Red Sox was inculcated in them at a very early age and it brings home why Red Sox fans are a breed apart. I just got through reading "The Devil Wears Pinstripes" and I'm still laughing my rear end off.

Red, you're going to dislike me for saying this, but not only did I not read the book he wrote after the '86 Series but couldn't have given a hoot in hell about his disappointment because my team back then was the very Mets who beat the Red Sox in the Series. Of course, I have had a stupendous metamorphasis since then and only wish the two teams could play again so I could root the Red Sox home. Sad, but true, I didn't find the team I should have always rooted for until I was close to 60. Talk about not getting it until the cows left the barn, well, at lest I finally got it.
