of course tek isn't meeting with other gm's who in their right mind would give him 5 years 55 mill with a no trade clause? pedro meets with others because they are offering something he is willing to accept. NO ONE but the sox are offering tek even anything close to what he wants.

the problem with the "fans" is that they react with the media. the media makes too big of a deal about pedro and nothing about tek. it's easier for them. tek is the quiet guy who says nothing, pedro is the guy that has a big mouth. it's easy for them to make pedro look a bad guy and tek to be a good guy. you guys fell for it like suckers.

Pedro has a big f***ing mouth and is acting like a greedy *******. That doesnt diminish his skills or make him any less desirable to have on the mound, but it does make him an *******.

 

Tek has been quiet an acted like a pro...thus has been been portrayed a good guy, because, um, he is.

 

I think most fans can see through the spin and make up our minds based on the facts.

 

I guarantee you Tek is getting offers, he just isnt hanging them out for the world to see, and isnt playing one against the other in the papers...

Varitek is free to fire his agent at any time if he feels he is being unreasonable. The Golden Boy is not free from blame here people.

don't get me wrong here, i'm not saying i don't want tek back. but i don't want him back if we need to throw in a no trade clause and spend more than 8 mill per year on him. tek is extremely overrated in boston. yeah, he's one of the better catchers in mlb, but honestly, i'de rather have TWO of the better pitchers than one of the better catchers.

 

as for the pedro loud mouth. yeah, he has a big mouth, HOW does that make him an *******? you people are rediculous, have you ever met pedro? do you know him, do you hang out with him? how can you cheer for a guy every 4th or 5th day when you are here calling him an *******? i hope i don't ever see you or hear you cheering for pedro if he comes back. why would you cheer for an *******, right?

 

lets be reasonable now, everone has their ways of negotiation contracts, what makes you think that PEDRO is the one that is telling the media that the mets and yankees have made him offers or met with him? is it not POSSIBLE that the yankees are the ones that told reporters that they met up with pedro (so the sox would offer more) or the METS that told the media that they made pedro an offer?

actually, i can honestly say i have hung out with them.

 

last year, after a fire in my house which kept us out of it for the whole school year, we moved to where johnny damon and manny stayed during the season. the new loews theatres were right up the street, and i would walk there every now and then and see manny walking up the street.

 

but then i went into the sports club LA right across the street in the actual ritz hotel...he and pedro would work out there two or three times a week and i would too. i knew manny sort of because i kinda became friendly with him while i was staying there. pedro was just a wicked funny guy to be around and was always laughing. people...hes NOT an *******. i agree with ahhchon 100% on this subject. yes, pedro runs his mouth sometimes, and YES, sometimes hes demanding, but hes NOT an ******* about it.

 

if he wants to get as much money as he can, just like ANY of you would want to do, i dont blame him. the players go where the money grows.

 

pedro is still a cy young capable pitcher, and is still a possible all star. you people compare him to schilling too much, who we know is superior, that you forget about the talent he still has, and demote him to someone inferior to schilling...not all of you, but most of you. if pedro ends up going to the yankees, well it means he got the most money. i wont LIKE that he went to the yankees, but i would understand WHY. a lot of people arent willing to accept that, and thats why many of you automatically jump on the "pedro-is an *******-bandwagon."

 

and like ahhchon said, if you are calling him an ******* now, dont bother cheering for him if he comes back to boston. to you, its just an ******* pitching for boston.

to further a point you made:

 

you guys need to realize that pitching is the ONLY thing pedro knows how to do. he doesn't know how to run a business, he doesn't know how to fix computers, to fix a car, to do anything. pitching is his life. do you realize that once he retires he's not going to be able to do ANYTHING that gets him income? yeah he can sign a few baseballs here and there, but that does NOT support you.

 

in order for him to live the lifestyle he's living today he has to get as many years as possible on his contract and sign for as much as possible. if you were in his shoes you would want the same thing.

 

that's the reason i don't hate on tek. yeah i think what he's asking for is rediculous, but i understand that he wants to keep living the lifestyle he's living how when he's done with his career. he has 3-4 kids (i'm pretty sure he has 3) and he wants them to live an above par life. it's really as simple as that.

 

but that's the difference between tek and pedro. the money pedro is asking for is at least possible. i mean seriously now, "if" his era stays consistent (for him that's a 2.7) you don't think he's worth 14 mill a season? i'de pay 14 mill a year for a 2.7 era pitcher. especially with pedro, you'de know you'de be top 3 in the al (if not league) in K's and pretty low in HR and BB's.

 

tek on the other hand is (was) asking for 5 years 55 million with a no trade clause. which is absolutely LUDACRIS. that's the difference my friends. look past all that media bs about pedro and how much of a team player tek is. if he's such a "team player" he wouldn't be asking for something that rediculous. i can see why he wants the years, the money, and the ntc but the amount and level of each is way too extreme. i mean seriously, when he's done he can take his engineering degree and get a job (he won't have to, but COULD) whereas pedro will have nothing.

 

that right there, is the difference.

this is crazy, I have no idea what in Gods name you guys are trying to say any more...Pedro cant fix a car...with the money's he's made he could buy the dominican...and by the way how the hell do you know pedro cant fix a car..I heard he was a mechanic in high school actually so when he retires he can always fall back on that!

 

I cheer for him becasue he's on the redsox. I cheer for anyone on the redsox..Since when is there a rule you cant insult a player and cheer for him. Christ, I wouldnt be able to root for anyone in that case.... I think schilling is an ******* too after he came out for Bush, but I still cheer for him. For example, since GScheff is playing for the yankees, i hate him, he even made that comment bout the sox in the alcs (in my signature) but if all of the sudden he was available to be signed and wanted to come to beantown would I want him signed HELL YES! It is hard to imagine how fans can respond positively to this kind of thing and react negaitively to what pedro is up too.

I just read where Latrell Sprewell, is pissed at his contract for 14 million a year..because "he has a family to feed"...these athletes are grossly under paid and should get every penny they desrve while they still are young.

 

 

I wonder if latrell can fix a car, maybe if the basketball thing doesnt work out he can open a garage in tthe dominican with pedro..I read somewhere that pedro loves working on cars, and that he is very handy.

And that his entire town comes over to the mansion so pedro can fix things like computers....during the off season.
