Here's who I'd sign...

I'd sign Pedro 12 mill 2/3 yrs, sign VTek 9mill 3 yrs if he'll take it, OCab 8/9 mill for 2 yrs with 3rd yr opt., sign Kapler for 1.5 mill 1 yr, same for Dave Roberts, if Pokey wants to come back give him 1.25 mill for a yr, same with Mirrabelli, Leskanic but diff. salaries.

 

Here's who I'd let go...

DLowe, T.Adams, D.McCarty, R.Mendoza, E. Burks, R.Guiti, M. Myers, S. Willy

 

Here's who I'd replace with...

Carl Pav= 5/6 mill for 2 yrs with 3rd yr opt.(if Radke signs with Minn.), sign S.Kline=2.5-4 mill for 1 yr with 2nd yr opt., sign B.Larkin/C.Gomez/R.Sanchez=75 thou for 1 yr, T. Hollandsworth= 1.25 mill for 1 yr, sign E.Renteria (if OCab doesnt sign)= 6-8 mill for 2 yrs with 3rd yr opt.

 

That would leav us with...

Schilling, Martinez, Radke/Pavano, Arroyo, Wake

Timlin, Embree, Kline, Leskanic, Kim (bring up for long relief?), Foulke

Other Possibilities are that we bring up Abe Alvarez for long relief cuz im not confident in Kim but cant see anyone in market, also keep Youk asinf man( but he cant play SS/2B.

pedro wants more than 2/3 years... if you're going to do 2/3 years you better be ready to pay upwards of 14+ mill a year. 12 mill a year is a joke. he made over 16 mill this year buddy.

 

v-tek getting 9 mill for 2-3 years?? are you STUPID? do you watch the sox play or not.. can't you tell he's declining. 9 mill a year for 3 years to tek. talk about giving into bora$$, def a bad move when shoppach is on his way up.

 

oc for 8-9 mill a year is possible, but there will be a lot of teams going after him, at least 6 teams are in need of a GG ss with a good bat.

 

let scott willy go? if the man can prove that his arm is back he is a def sign. the man was lights out in 03.

 

pavano for 5-6 mill a year for TWO years? yeah, if we someone promissed him sex from any girl he wanted anytime anyday anywhere.... pavano will sign for no less than 7-8 mill a year for 4 years.

 

lets be realistic, if what you said happened that would be great, but the sox don't own baseball. we don't get everything we want. not at those prices.

The Sox are repotedly offering 24 mill for 3yrs and he wants 10 mill for 5. I'd say 9mill for 3 yrs is a good compromise , but I agree that he is declining. Also, we only need three more years out of him (that's all he probably has left) until Shopp is ready, by that time tek will have dropped out of the elite squad of catchers and we will let him go then.

 

I understand that S Will was lights out in 03 but only played in 20+ games in '04, he has already had TJ surgery and now will have surgery again, its just too risky to sign him.

 

CPav only made 3-4 mill last year but your probably right only cuz other teams will raise the bidding from 5/6 to the 7/8 range. Same w/ OCab but mor likely in the 8/9 range.
