Yankees - Red Sox

i always looked at the series because of the teams two histories, and how during the red sox drought the yanks thrived and the sox suffered. the sox have finally won, and no more suffering is being enflicted upon us.

 

so now i ask:

whats next for this rivalry?

 

i think its got a little something to do with the yanks wanting something the red sox currently have:

The one I've been hearing mostly is "Well we've got 26 championships." Which is interesting since I thought it was about when a team has won the championship last.

Yankees > Red Sox in this rivalry still. This offseason's gonna be nuts, Steiny's gonna explode. I can't wait to see it, and this is from a Yankee fan.

 

Hopefully it means he puts a really, really, really good team on the field.

I suspect the rivlary will be bigger and better than ever. The Yankees collapse in the post-season (a beautiful thing to behold) will make the team, and its owner, charged up to never let such a debacle repeat itself. They will try to make themselves bigger and better. A-Rod will have all winter to think about his shameful slap maneuver. It will be fever pitch in April. Can't wait! Also, XM Radio is carrying all baseball games so I can finally follow the action down here in Virginia in FM-quality sound....

I think they may be. He really tanked it for the yanks, but he's a better pitcher than what he showed this year.

And to think the gaul of some of them crying from that loss with 26 championships under their belt... But hey, thats a yankees fan.

Stop characterizing all Yankee fans together. Fans have a right to be upset that their team didn't win this year. They should have, they had a very good team and a 3-0 lead in the ALCS. History has nothing to do with it. Yankee fans should be upset with the loss, there's no excuse for it. No reason to sit back and say "Well we've got 26 Championships, it's ok to lose this year." That's ridiculous. Don't say we've got "gaul" for being pissed at the team's performance over the last 4 games of the year.

This rivalry may now have a case of role reversal. Now it's the MFY who may be chasing the Sox, trying to make room in their already bloated payroll. Sox fans now feel vindicated and liberated from the MFY fans and all the trash they spew from their pie holes. This is a new world, winning against the MFY and in the World Series has freed us from alot of baggage and worry. We still hate them. The MFY are our chief rival and next year, Sox fans will be pumped up for every game.
