To be fair, the runs were charged to Mendoza, not Myers.

 

None the less... ORTIZ was really close to hitting out of the park, the ball he hit was a bit low in the zone. Willy should have pitched instead of Kim.

I'm actually feeling pretty good about the Yanks. Look, the division title, if it is to be had, is going to be tough. I think after this weekend, the Sox should look to align their rotation for the playoffs more than go for the title. I say 2 outa 3 - maybe a sweep this weekend - but even if they sweep, now they are too far behind. They had to be 2.5 back for this weekend to make a serious difference (even with NY facing the Twins next week).

 

I hope for a sweep, but feel 2 outa 3 is the reallity. This team should have won the East, but moving on, I hope they don't "fire all their guns" at something they lost months ago...

What a waste of a game. I paid 12 bucks for perfectly good upper bleacher tickets behind the scoreboard and the team blows it!

kim and myers totalled 4 runs, lowe had 5.

 

don't blame it all on kim and myers, lowe gave up 5 runs, he is also to blame.

Look guys, the AL East would be awesome, but it's unrealistic. The Red Sox need to gain 5 games on New York with 10 games to play. That means if the Red Sox win ALL 10, the Yankees would have to play .500 ball.

 

IF the Red Sox sweep the weekend series, AND Minnesota takes 2 of 3, AND the Red Sox sweep Tampa.... Then I'm willing to consider the AL East a possibility.

 

Until that point, the Red Sox need to focus on winning the wild card. Nevermind the Angels, Athletics, or Rangers. They need 5 more wins this season to do it.
