We would play oakland, who, i think, would be an easier team than minnesota

Or Anaheim, since they face each other so much. I can't decide between homefield advantage or playing easier teams though.

I think its win-win. I'll take either one.

This is very good point to be raised. By winning the division the Sox would face Santana twice in a short series. On the other hand with the wild card they lose home field advantage against Oakland, but they've hit Zito pretty well and Mulder is not the pitcher he was last year. Still, I think the only thing you can do is win as many games as you can and that means going for the AL East title.

Either way it will be a tough first round.

If we play Oakland we see a Cy Young candidate, a former Cy Young winner and a hard throwing righty (Harden). On top of that the A's have a gritty batting order who will make us work to get them out. Let's also not forget they'll be looking for some revenge.

If we play Minnesota we'll face the likely Cy Young winner and AL strikeout leader. Their pitching drops off after that though. But they also have a better lineup than Oakland and are a very good fielding team too.

If by chance Anaheim becomes are foe we will have a struggling, but still pretty good Colon and a strong bullpen. We will also face a strong lineup lead by Guerrero who has had some success against us this year.

The road to glory is never easy. And it certainly won't be this year

i would MUCH MUCH rather face minnesota than oakland, are you kidding me? mulder, hudson, zito, harden. my god that is scary. i don't care how bad of a year zito is having, i'm sure he's capable of holding his own in the ALDS.

minnesota has santana and radke, their starting rotation after that is questionable. radke if not on his game will get ruined by the sox. i also feel that the twins lineup is not as strong as the a's lineup.

yeah i agree i would rather play minnesota than oakland. oakland is jus way to strong with thier rotation and thier due to win a series with all that talent they have (mulder, hudson, zito, redman, harden) taht is pretty tough :(

They re called the chokeland athletics for a reason. The yankees have beaten them.

i would much rather play oakland instead of minnesota. Santana will go twice, Radke is a good #2. They play at the dome which is as good a home field as anywhere, and they don't give away outs. They havea very good bullpen. Whoever gets the Twins IT IS NO PUSHOVER.

Boston owns oakland. oakland cannot figure them out. we nullify the rotation by shutting down their offense, and get to their bullpen early they are screwed. they cant hit iwth us...just look at the last 8 or 9 times weve played them...very one sided.

Not true. We jumped on them last time. But with Mulder all we did was get into the pen and hit 2 homers off of Dotel .

so its a different day and that means yankees get elimated in the 1st round :harhar:

Nope not this year. Our team woke up after the 22-0 loss. Right now were rolling and the 14-4 loss was sweet aswell :harhar:. By the way your avatar isn't working.
