there are only a few good players on the cowboys...one of them being julius jones...the patriots r a dynasty...and have great players...they are an amazing team...the cowboys suck!!!!!

Not to be an *******, or anything, but you just sounded like a Yankee fan of the NFL ;)

Jerry Jones would have his team winning everything if his sport wasn't capped. ;)

Doodle please stop messing with my mind.

ME? Mind games? :dunno: Sorry? I was actually being kinda serious about that comment...him and Mark Cuban, the George Steinbrenners of their sports.

Training camp opens this week. Was watching a piece on SC about Drew Rosenhaus (oh, that guy, he must be joking here!!) about hold-outs, obviously with the Javon Walker and T.O. thing getting press coverage, but there was also a small section on how nearly a dozen players (or something like that) NOT represented by Rosenhaus are holding out for new deals and have missed work-outs, like Patriots' Richard Seymour.

There, it stayed on topic?

The hold-outs are ridiculous. If they miss training camp, they're gunna get fined, and then go back to the team because they're sick of losing the money. Well, if you want more money, don't be a dumbshit and miss training camp where you will LOSE more money. The whole thing is stupid. Get off your greedy asses and play the damn game. T.O. wants more money because he thinks he's being underpaid for his talent. I'd gladly take his contract over an average lifestyle. You have it great, TO, now play the game and get the money that mostly no one will ever see in their lifetime.

Not to completely side with the hold-out-ers, but in the NFL contracts are not guaranteed, and thus favor the teams because they can pretty much do whatever they want, cut the strings - and unless you're Peyton Manning, most players fear the day when they're on the chopping block. Athletes' salaries are a joke to begin with, agreed, so I don't want to hear about $14 mil not being enough to "feed your family", but if there's loyalty in a contract, it should be honored both ways.

Gosh, if KB's salary wasn't guaranteed...(ok, I'll stop with the jabs, eventually)

dont even get me started with that greedy friggin bastard called Terrell Owens. Last season he signed what was a big 7 year, $50 million contract. Now just a season later, hes balking at it calling it ridiculous and that is simply not enough to take care for his family ??!! he can feed the state of Massachusetts with that money easily. Have him walk through the slums sections of cities and see how good he really has it in life, shut the hell up and accept your $50 million

Agreed. To be honest, I don't think he did anything this last year that makes him more valuable than the year he signed the contract.

He never has to catch another pass his entire life and if the money's spent even somewhat wisely, his grandchildren will die wealthy.

Do know if this is posted elsewhere, but the Pats signed their last unsigned draft pick, 1st round pick Mankin. Love to have everyone in the fold going into camp with exception of Seymour ).

side note did anyone here about the # 1 draft pick selected by 49ers Alex Smith? the guy hasnt even stepped on the field of a pro-game in uniform yet and they have already signed him to a six-year $57 million contract!!

Story on Belichick's moves to replace Bruschi's position - if at all possible.

In other news Rosenhaus "saves a drowning boy". Oh ok. First it's A-Rod pulling boy out of car's way...now this. Whether he can CPR- his clients' deals remains to be seen.

BTW, didn't Smith have the same agent as Eli? Not surprising.

That makes no sense at all, that's Bardy money ( or close to it ) !

i can see a 2 or 3 season contract just to know what hes actually worth, who knows if hes the next brady or could be the next jeff garcia?

He could be the next Steve Young -- I'm a 49ers fan and I'm sure as hell hoping so.

Personally, I wanted the 49ers to take Braylon Edwards -- he idolizes Jerry Rice and his work ethic -- it could've been a great situation for him to be in, stepping into the position his idol was once in (in terms of being a rookie WR on the 49ers). Plus, Brandon Lloyd, Rashaun Woods, and Braylon Edwards would have the potential of being a dynamite trio down the line. Sigh... my 49ers mess up again.

Well...so long as he doesn't turn out to be another Californian-QB-flop *cough* RYAN LEAF

Then again, anyone, ANYONE is a success compared to him. :o

Didn't Young take a lot, A LOT of crap after Montana left...and Young was pretty good - eventually brought them a Super Bowl title - but he was never Montana, and for a long time SF fans didn't let that go. Smith's situation is different than Young's; the heights the franchise has fallen from.

Heard this stat on "NFL Live": Tim Rattay has less wins than Tom Brady has Super Bowl wins...three. So they really needed help in that department. I guess Rodgers is kinda guy-in-the-wings that Young was in.

But Tim Rattay really isn't a bad QB. 83.8 Career QB Rating, which isn't great, but it's not horrible. 61.3% completion. In the little time he played in 2003, he had 7.25 YPA... which is good. Besides, look at his WR's last year. Brandon Lloyd was the only real good one, and he even faced some double teams.

I think the 49ers were capable of winning more games last year, personally. But Dennis Erickson is too god damn conservative of a coach.

Well about Erickson - HE GONE!

Yeah I know, just thought I'd *mention* the stat; he did get drafted in the same year Brady did. For your sake, I hope the 49ers disarray doesn't continue for long. :D

I can take the losing, so long as the reign of John York as the 49ers owner soon comes to an end.

Ted Johnson retires---

Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson has surprisingly announced his retirement today, ending his career after 10 seasons with the team

they are really in trouble at MLB

They'll get it figured out.

It's just like no matter who the Broncos throw in at RB, he'll be a huge success -- no matter who the Patriots throw in to, well, any position, really, they produce.
