Wow, reading that guys posts were painful.

For a team that has the worst pitching staff in baseball, they sure have a good record, don't they? ;) I'm really looking forward to Brown's start today, if he pitches well we'll actually have a rotation in October that will be a force.

Lieber pitched very well tonight, he had a couple shaky innings but settled down and pitched a very good game. If Lieber pitches like he did tonight then I think the Yankee rotation is better than we all thought.

Hey guys:

I have a question about last nights game Rivera got a blown save but all runs were charged to Gordon. Seems like the Yankee bullpen is not as dominant as people think.

My question: How did Rivera look? Was he getting hit hard, did the twinkies get lucky?

Thanks

When Jon Leiber is your second starter it means you have a bad pitching staff

job leiber is not as bad as you think.

everyone needs to lay of the yankee pitching staff. they did win 100+ games after all.

as for last nights game. WTF is with leaving nathan in for THREE innings. he threw 44 pitches and he was still in. BAD DECISION. you think after 4 straight balls he would be yanked, then 4 more, then the A-rod double.

Yes. He's going to take heat for that, because Minnesota's got a decent pen. Closers nowadays typically work 1 inning, some closers can work 2 (Foulke, Rivera and others), but not even Francona would ask Foulke to pitch 3 innings. That's asking for trouble.

On the Subject of the Yankees, they're going with Kevin Brown on Friday for game 3. Does this mean that there's something wrong with El Duque? are they saving him for game 4?

Thoughts?

i honestly doubt his shoulder is in that much trouble, it's more of a way to have him be 4th in the rotation without the media going crazy because el duque pitched so well in his starts. torre is better at playing the media than we give him credit for.

the ALDS's have been amazing thus far. even though we've outscored the angels pretty badly it's been a good series. the yankees twins series is shaping up to be a great series too. NLDS is always boring imo. cept for last years marlins comeback against the cubbies.

I agree. The Twins/Yankee games were TIGHT. Last night's Red Sox/Angel game was TIGHT (until the end).

I think it's great. Good baseball all around, and the best part is: Everyone's got a shot. There's no one team in the AL that's definately going to walk away with it. I would say that New York and Boston have the advantages at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised to see both series' go 5 games.

Minnesota's a good team. They have Santana, but the rest of their players get no love from the media and credit for being so good. There's a reason why they've won 3 straight AL Central titles.

Brown vs Silva on Friday night. I'm giving the Yankees the edge in this one.

seeing that their division rivals are the white sox, Guardians, tigers and royals it's not too hard.. the white sox, their closest rivals were only 4 games above .500. the central division is a joke.

no doubt. i hope you don't think that i was implying in any way that the twins are a bad team. they are a damn good team, especially with that payroll. it's just that they could be a mediocre team and still take that division.

I agree with you, because in past years, weaker Twins teams even have won that division....

This particular Twins team could be dangerous, but their starters (after Santana) are going to have to step uo. Santana simply can't carry this team over New York. he's slated to pitch game 4, but assuming they win his other start, they still need a win from Radke in #5 or Silva Friday night.

Any decision on who Torre's throwing at Santana on Saturday? I'd guess El Duque, man that gives him a huge advantage in this series:

Brown vs Silva -- Advantage Yankees.

Santana vs Duque -- Advantage Twins.

Mussina vs Radke -- Advantage Yankees.

The Yankees aren't as deep as they've been in past years, but let's face it: With Mussina, Duque, and Lieber... (not to mention Brown and Vazquez) They are deep enough to win it all.

there is no need to go to a yankee forum and defend the sox. bashers only bash because they are morons. real true yankee fans that know something about the game knows that the sox are a force to reckon with and realize that we are no pushover easy win, ever.
