Could you please enlighten us on the prospect status of Hattig? Is he a big loss?

 

Adams should be a decent pickup. He also can start in a pinch.

No big deal. He's probably not a future regular and even if by chance he became one, he'd have no place on this team. He's not as good as Youkilis, so he wouldn't play 3B. He doesn't have as much power as West, so he wouldn't go to 1B or DH. Hattig really didn't have a future with us and when Adams is on, he's well worth the price.

There's a lot to being a scout that I don't think I have.

We'll have to wait our assesment of how good a scout Zenny is until Shoppach,Alvarez, etc reach the majors.

Hit the nail on the head...this is exactly what we need right now. Between Embree (who saved the Sox from a bases loaded jam in the 6th (?) on Saturday), Mendoza (all I have to say is WOW), Timlin, and Adams, our MRP and LRP situation is improved. But we NEED SWilly to come in and pitch the 8th. My heart sank yesterday after Matsui knocked that granny out, and then we brought in Adams in a set-up situation, who subsequently put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Thank god Foulke didn't f*** up...

I'd say the jury's still out on Mendoza. He's thrown 8.2 innings so far! He's throwing well, but I'm not gunna jump on his bandwagon just yet.

I am waiting to decide on mendoza but colmpared to the stiffs theo has paraded out ther I muist say Mendoza hasnt looked all that bad. One bad pitch which is strill flying around kenmore square, but other than that not too shabby.

 

So what is that 3 million a year for 8 innings

One thing related to Terry Adams coming on: Curtis Leskanic was put on the DL to make room.

 

The Sox still need an additional arm in that pen. Hopefully Mendoza is reliable enough to bridge the gap until Williamson comes back!

I was thinking the same thing. Other than that blast he gave up the other day, he hasnt looked as bad, as some others who will remain nameless

 

I dont want to put the hex on him, but maybe we'll get some productivity for all the millions we have paid him over the last two seasons..

mendoza has NOT been bad, and dont start to get onto mendoza for giving up a homerun, it happens, everyone does. gagne has HRs hit off him, even as it may not be too common.
