OK guys, let's face it. The Red Sox cannot comptete with the likes of Anaheim, Oakland, New York...

 

f***, we can't even beat the Mariners' AAA team or Baltimore.

 

It's time to trade the following players for prospects:

 

Nomar Garciaparra. I love you Nomar, maybe after you've won the World Series somewhere else you can come back to Boston and show us what a ring looks like.

 

Derek Lowe. The Mets want him. The Phillies want him. Get some prospects.

 

Kevin Millar. I don't care what you get, just get rid of him.

 

Pedro Martinez. Send him to the Mets...just to really piss George off.

 

These 4 guys should net us some decent prospects. We can go out next year, sign Carlos Delgado to play first, sign a couple new pitchers, and be back in business for 05.

 

Theo, swallow your pride and do what's best before it's too late. As you said, it's a seller's market...Get us some good players so we can compete next year.

Any video game would be better than watching the Sox lose this afternoon. My choice would have been SOCOM 2, baby...light up some motherf'n terrorists with an m60; can't beat it.

 

Anyway, I don't think we should get rid of Pedro, because he WILL end up in NY next season, and it kills me to think about that. Everybody monitoring this board for the last month knows I wouldn't mind seeing Nomar and DLowe leave town, in turn freeing up a decent amount of cash. I'm still split on Tek; interested to see what Shoppach can do for us, and Mirabelli is looking more and more like a viable alternative.

 

Does anybody know where I can find a list of next year's free agents???

I love Pedro and he had the most dominant 6 year-stretch of any starting pitcher in history, but I think it's time he goes. His ERA is over 4.00. He's given up a whole bunch more homeruns and the control has not been there. Spending $13-16 million dollars a season on him just doesn't seem viable or intelligent. We should let him walk.

 

Oh sweet Jesus, this is what we all said about Rocket in 1996. 1996 and 2004 are becoming eerily similar. Just like 2001 and 2004. And 2002 and 2004. Hell, we should just treasure 2003 and look to 2018.

My point all along is "what is he worth?" 17.5/year? Hell no. Not anymore. 10-13, ok, but I don't think he'll take it. There's a lack of pitching in the league (which is why they should raise the mound by 3 inches, but that's another story...), and Pedro, however deminished, is still one of the best. It's just that nobody is worth more than 13 Million in this day and age (unless, of course, they raise the mound).

The Sox can't beat the Yankees on a night when Curt Schilling starts at home. Although this team is still in the WC hunt, I wouldn't care who they trade at this point in the season. Millar hits three homers but can't field a ball at first base. Foulke's first name is now officially "Heathcliff".

I dont think anyone would want these underachieving losers. I never thought I'd say it but man, we just suck.

 

I blame the manager and management. One look across the field and you see a team that wants to win, that has pride and professionalism. No clowning around in the dugout, no shaved heads, goofiy bobnlehead dolls, no tantrums, no hugs, these guys play to win. I hate f***ing Jeter, I hate his guts, but I can admit I'm jealous, he plays to win, he cares when they lose. He jumps in the stands, he would run through a wall.

 

The biggest game in a long time, and Manny looked like he was in coma, nomar looked lifeless. Fat ass hits three solo home runs and plays in the field like FDR. Franconca, leaves schilling in too long and foulke what the f***...classic choke.

 

It's only july, the fans are too hard on the team, talk radio sucks, always f***ing excuses. The bottom line is that because these guys are spoiled brats and because franconca is a submissive wimp, we do whaat we want and play like shitheads becasue no one says otherwise.

 

The wunderchild Theo and that homo Francona are responsible for this mess. Unless he his fired within the next few days we can expect the same attitude and the same results.

You're point is crazy, so who cares what he averagers an outing, if he is doing stinky take him the hell out of there. There should be accountability, the three poeple you mentioned are good, but what about the guys I mentioned they suck...The manager sucks....

I dont think francona is enstilling a winning attitude. I am not goign to argue ab out whetehr he kept schilling in too long, (because he did) or not....I am not going to say the my goldfish can tell lowe is running out of gas, but franconca leaves him for the inevitable massacre, but I will say the team appears not to give a s***, and rather than fire the whole team, most teams at least attemot to shake things up by firing the manager---

Theo sucks? I want some of whatever your smoking. Yeah he ONLY picked up Bill Mueller (The AL batting Champ) David Ortiz (Leading MLB in RBI) and Kevin Millar (who had a craear year and is a verystreky player who could in one game could start going on a hot streak for 2 weeks not to mention a great clubhouse presence). Oh yeah and he brought some power pitcher named Curt Schilling I think he's decent. but outside of all that your right he sucks. Ok ANYWAYS why would we start selling off the team when we are first in the WC you're only supposed to start auctioning off your team when you are in absouloutly no contention for ANY playoff spot, and last I checked were a half game UP in the WC why in the hell would you auction off your team when your in first in the WC it jsut makes no sense I'm jsut as frustrated as everyone else but everyone still has to think with a level head if the season ended today we make the playoffs why would we sell when we are in first for a playoff spot it jsut makes no sense.
