Westbrook has been nothing short of dominating his last two appearances.

April 19: 7 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 7 K

April 25: 9 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 2 ER, 3 K

They were both against Detroit.

It's supposed to be freezing tonight in Cleveland, which is kinda symbolic of our bats. But I expect our bats tonight to come out fiery and hot and totally crush the Tribe tonight. I want a 10 run 1st inning and a shutout by Schilling. Of course I'm probably asking too much out of this, so let's just win.

well it is cleveland. It shouldn't be THAT much of a challenge. Hopefully we can win at LEAST 2. We need to sweep though.

Well the Sox have their claim to fame this season...

Most runners left on base. I swear to god, everytime we load the bases whoever is up to bat grounds into a double play.

yes that is true im fed up with this im gonna go and give them some tips on what to do with the bases loaded, get a hit

Its because of Cesar Crespo. Thats 3 double plays he's grounded into with the bases loaded now. Thats HORRIBLE! Talk about killing rallies. I'd rather have a 67 year old, pregnant cow named Bessie hit than Crespo.

I'm pissed off.

haha i agree lemme send cesar my cow

you have a cow?

Anyway, this is painful to watch! The Guardians have more hits off of schilling than the sox have off of Westbrook. I know he has a great ERA this year, but in his career his ERA is up there at 4.95! The sox should be able to eat this guy up!

We're starting to develop some serious offensive problems. Any rally we mount gets immediately shot down by the likes of Crespo, and the hard work from the contributing members of the team is all for nothing.

And another thing, sox bats (in the past) have hit .344 off of Westbrook. He really isnt that great of a pitcher. His numbers are inflated, well, deflated, because he pitched only against Detroit and Minnesota. The sox SHOULD destroy him.

I'm getting angrier and angrier.

Well, if there's any silver lining to this game it's that Westbrook should be out of the game soon. The Cleveland Bullpen is having its fair share of struggles this season and it's exactly what the sox need to get out of this hitting slump.

Oh and what a difference two bats can make...

Nomar + Trot = clutch hitting

Ouch. What a horrible, horrible game. Only mustering 1 run against the Guardians. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark...

are any of you getting worried about the sox's offense?

I've been worred for the past 7 games. We havent scored ANYTHING. We've had great pitching too, just NO run support. It's really starting to get on my nerves.

I dont understand though. We have decent hitting. We should be getting 4-5 runs per game, but we arent. We're just dead. Its incomprehensible and inexcusable at the same time. How can a team start off so hot (but, even during the two sweeps we weren't hitting well at all, the other teams were just hitting worse), and then just die. Lose 4 in a row, 3 to texas and one to clevelend? Is that even possible?

Something needs to happen FAST.

I attribute this slump mainly to the double-headers and rainouts, that'll really throw you into a slump.

But the lack of hitting has been going on for a while. We havent scored a lot of runs all season. The double headers may play a role in this recent terribleness (new word), but the hitting just hasn't been happening.

Hopefully trot and nomar will be big re-additions to the lineup. We're tanking right now. Our showing for the past week has been horrible. Losing 4 in a row to Texas and to Cleveland is shameful.

The team is ridiculously inconsistent, scoring 5 runs in one inning and then not scoring for games and games. We need consistent, hot bats. I think a lot of players are in funks right now, but I dont really know whom to assign blame to. Is it Tito's fault?
