  1. I dunno, have you even seen his 'stache? It's rather impressive. But yeah, sure, I'll take your word for it. I won't pretend to much about our 5 tier catchers.
  2. Jake Rogers is a catcher. He completely sucks. But he catches, allegedly. To his credit, he can grow a solid 'stache. so I guess there's that, too.
  3. If Adley wasn't 28yo and injured I might agree. 28 is like 35 in catcher years. Back to back seasons of him missing time is huge red flag. I don't dislike Adley, but that is just too much at this point in his career. Literally every analyst I've heard say it's a massive overpay. You and Bres are on an island on this. Let's hope it's works out.
  4. "If he can stay healthy" should not be the first thing you say after trading 3 of your best prospects.
  5. We just paid more for a 28yo catcher with injuries than LAD paid for 2 time defending Cy Young. There were other options to give us a boost this year without trading 3 of our top 5 prospects. Rutschman is good but I don't see him as the difference between us winning it all or not this year.
  6. Rays get Hicks for peanuts and we give the farm for an injured Rutschman. This is inexcusable.
  7. What in the actual f***. This is deal insane. f*** you Breslow. I'm so sour right now.
  8. If that is it, I'm on board. Worth the gamble. No need to rush him back. Let him DH to start and ease him in. This is about what I expected Jeffers to cost, and we get another year.
  9. That's why I like Springer and Singer. Best bang for your buck that I see out there. Plus, I'm only interested in guys who's names end with inger. 😅
  10. Yeah, I'm not going overboard for either. At most I would consider a deal headlined by Arias or Eyanson, but not both. The price on either is probably too rich for me, but if it didn't cost both those guys I'm at least exploring it. If we have Rutschman, than obvs Goodman is probably not happening anyway(not that I ever really thought it was).
  11. I thought this was still Lawnboy... Curious if anyone will get this...
  12. Very curious on the return. Hopefully we didn't overpay for a 28yo injured C. But if the price was reasonable I'm fine with it,
  13. No, definitely not. To be clear. I am not in favour of selling the farm to go for it this year. But I do think there are some good reinforcements out there for good value. This team has earned some help. To just sit back and say it's not our year is crazy to me. I will be upset if we trade Arias or Eyanson for Neto. But Abrams or Goodman and I'm listening.
  14. Thank you for confirming that. Not sure what the other was looking at.
  15. Yes, Front offices generally tend to make decisions based on logic over emotion. Iol I can handle an "automatic out" if that player brings a lot to the table outside hitting, and more importantly, we are winning.
  16. Where are you seeing that? Googling George Springer OPS at Fenway says he has a career .940 OPS. But I don't really trust AI searches, so if you have a more reliable source I'm open to being proven wrong.
  17. That's why I would consider him a DH to start. Ease him into learning the staff. If and when he shows he's ready to take over behind the plate, we can send someone down. Same if we got Jeffers.
