  1. I do not think it was an either or situation. It was an exercise in roster building: Did Hang’em Chaim do the following to build his roster: 1.) Depth of starters - yes. I have been pleasantly surprised by how well his starters have performed. 2.) build a roster of quality position players and have depth - yes. Not Hang’em Chaim’s fault some of our guys struggled early! 3.) build a complete bullpen from innings eaters to set up men to a quality closer - no and that is his downfall. He knew the budget. He knew where the dollars should have been allocated. He chose to hope barnes could recover his form. Note to Hang’em Chaim- hope is never a good or viable strategy!
  2. Granberg started game two for Portland. But then left the game. Not sure what happened.
  3. He pitched the 8th today in Oakland in a blow out.
  4. Mata two innings pitched. No hits 2 walks, 2 strike outs, 1 unearned run surrendered.
  5. Wong with his 2nd tater of the season, Hernandez with his 4th tater of the season. Mieses with his 5th tater of the season. Bello had given up 1 run through 5 innings but ran into trouble in the 6th and ended up giving up 3 runs in 5.1 innings. Struck out 8.
  6. I do not think Hang’em Chaim is in over his head, I think he made one bad decision concerning the back end of his bullpen. If we do not blow 12 save opportunities out of 52 games (a staggering number) we are right in the middle of things and with sale and maybe Paxton back contributing next month.
  7. We are up in Oakland 4-0 and then they bring in strahm for the 8th and he promptly tries to lose the game for us. Dumpster fire bullpen continues!
  8. Sikes of Salem had a weird night. He was 1 for 1 (a triple) with 4 walks!
  9. Kavadas with his 6th tater of the season tonight.
  10. Hang’em Chaim seems to have an acute inability to differentiate average stuff from electric stuff. And as far as how our lower minor league teams are currently constructed, he seems to have an odd fascination with collecting pitchers with below average stuff.
  11. Northcut with his 16th tater of the season. Decker with his 4th tater of the season.
  12. My apologies for my brutal honesty. Next time I shall endeavor to temper my observations of Bradley’s miasmic hit tool.
  13. Let’s hope it was just nerves and he gets back on track in his next start.
  14. Bradley is hitting better because they aren’t pitching him inside as much. Once they pitch him inside consistently, hello .163 batting average!
  15. 2023 starters Sale Pivetta Whitlock Bello Resigned wacha or free agent 1b cassas (dalbec) 2b arroyo SS story 3b resigned devers Lf verdugo Cf Cordero Rf Bradley (Duran) C wong (r hernandez) Dh dalbec (cassas) I see 3 holes Catcher 2nd base 5th starter
  16. Well deserved! The kid is pitching lights out! Next we need someone to notice Rafeala and get him on the list.
  17. Bleacher report had us at number 19 recently. I am excited about the youngsters we have added in the last couple of years or so. A good half dozen of these guys have very high ceilings, and I am hopeful we can help them develop to their fullest potential. Mayer Yorke Jordan Rafeala W Gonzalez Blies
  18. I’d take two strahms over brazier and Valdez.
  19. It feels like Hang’em Chaim is starting to shuffle the deck chairs around on the titanic, I mean the bullpen. Brazier, Valdez and straim back on the roster and a couple of 1978 ford pintos to the dl.
  20. Keeping my fingers crossed for this kid. His stuff was electric prior to ucl surgery. Also I think Walter is on the hill for Worcester tonight.
  21. Kavadas with his 5th tater of the season. Uberstine pitched a whale of a game. 5 innings and only 1 hit given up,
  22. Davis also hit a tater today. His 2nd,
  23. Stewart with his 8th tater of the season.
  24. Davis with his 7th tater of the season for Greenville.
  25. Koss with an 8th inning grand tater in Portland! His 5th tater of the season. Ps: why is granberg still in Portland?
